We had the best time at White Lotus Yala! The villa is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, and surrounded by a peaceful natural setting. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made our stay even more special. Everything was thoughtfully maintained, and the attention to detail really stood out. We felt comfortable and well looked after from the moment we arrived. “Perfection in itself”

How can we describe The Wild Lotus? It is the Garden of Eden personified. From the moment the gates opened to reveal the amazing grounds we felt ourselves totally relaxing. The bungalows are huge and extremely comfortable with nothing missed. The beds and pillows gave us the best nights sleep. The food is absolutely excellent and served in your balcony veranda. The pool is extremely difficult to get out of once in as the temperature is just perfect. The staff. Well where do we start? They are so kind, extremely attentive, always around and checking if you need anything or second guessing what you will require next. Nothing is too much for them and we felt extremely humble. The atmosphere is totally relaxing and we really didn’t want to leave. We really cannot rate this hotel high enough and if we could have gone over 5 we would have!

One of our best stay in Sri Lanka. The only mistake we made was only to stay only one night. Madu is a true legend, he will make your stay unforgettable. The staff is amazing, they are all lovely. You can also eat with there, the food is really tasty. You're amazing guys!

“Perfect stay and amazing safari experience”

One of the most special stays. The team were fabulous! The safari was just amazing - we saw 4 leopards, a sloth bear, multiple elephants, crocodiles, and so much bird life. Madu, the owner, picked us up from Mirissa at the start of our stay and also kindly took us took the airport which was a lovely touch. His father Jayantha was the best safari guide - so knowledgeable, funny and helpful. The food, service, ambience and accomodation was just perfect. I couldn’t believe how spacious and well kept the rooms are. Wild Lotus is an absolute gem and I can’t wait to return one day (and see Alvin and Rooster again!)

Our stay in Yala was absolutely fantastic! The villa was beautiful, spacious, and had an amazing pool where we could fully relax after our safari. The highlight of our stay was the incredible BBQ dinner experience under the stars—it was truly unforgettable. The atmosphere, the food, and the hospitality were all exceptional. We highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Yala!

We do give 5 star reviews, and when we do, it’s because a place gets the basics right. However, this has completely reset what 5 stars means for us. We booked it as part of a longer trip months ago and honestly forgot about it. But the second we arrived, we realised how different this place is. It’s calm, private, beautifully kept, and feels designed for people who actually want to switch off. The details matter here: fresh fruit juice on arrival, genuinely home-cooked food (not “hotel food”), a peaceful pool area, a spotless apartment, and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in while travelling. But what really sets it apart is the staff who are warm, attentive, and present without being intrusive. Everything about this place feels guest-first. It’s not trying to be flashy, it’s trying to be good, and it absolutely succeeds. If you want a tranquil, high-quality base in Sri Lanka rather than a busy tourist hotel, this is it.

Wish we could give this property a million stars, we had the most amazing few days here! Madu was extremely helpful when coordinating safaris and food. We went on two safaris and loved our time with a very swift entrance to Yala and so much local knowledge shared. The property was a home away from home with clean and welcoming spaces and all the comforts you could need. The food served was fresh and delicious!! We also went on a village tour and loved meeting local artisans. Highly recommend the property!

This house is really special and we were sorry that we did not spend more time there. We had lunch and dinner there and everything was truly perfect. The house, the stuff and everything around was more then perfecf!
