“Lovely Homestay away from the town centre”

We liked the spacious room with the large balcony and the well-designed bathroom. Shower was working very well with nice hot water. There was a fairly large and ice-cold fridge, which was a big bonus. The bed was very comfortable. Mithi was a fantastic host. She always made sure we had everything we needed, made us wonderful breakfast, and even sent her husband to shop for curd for us <3 She was always smiley and friendly.

The host was amazing, did everything she could to make our stay as comfortable as possible, including giving us drinks and nibbles on arrival. We had to order dinner from a local restaurant, but that wasn’t difficult. She also organised a safari and taxi transfer for us very easily. The room was big and clean and the water pressure in the shower was great.

The room was amazing modern and very very clean! Aircon which was amazing as it was very warm. The host is so so lovely and made our stay in yala even better. They organised the safari for us and it was the best we seen so many animals and 5 leopards!! Would definitely stay again it was perfect!! Very very good value for money.

Clean, spacious and comfortable room. The host was lovely and brought us a delicious juice on arrival. She was flexible and allowed us to check out late after our safari. The area is quiet and residential which was perfect for us. The property overlooks a small river/stream and is in nature. Great Air con and bathroom/shower with hot water.

For wildlife and nature photographers, this hotel is truly a paradise. You can easily arrange a private safari to Yala National Park directly with Mithi, which makes logistics incredibly convenient. The hotel’s location is also excellent for birding and wildlife observation — both Debarawewa Lake and Pannagamuwa Wewa are within walking distance. With Mithi’s help, it’s also easy to reach Wirawila Lake and Tissa Lake by tuk-tuk. In addition, there is a small stream right beside the property, which becomes a fantastic spot for night walks, especially for observing amphibians and insects. Mithi herself is incredibly resourceful and helpful — whatever you need, just let her know and she will make it happen quickly and smoothly. I spent several wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable days here, and would happily return again.

Owner is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met! She went above and beyond. Her English is absolutely perfect. We felt right at home with her very warm welcome. She arranged a lovely private safari for us. Driver was amazing too, and gave us the best safari experience. It felt like the safari already started right outside our room. There were all kinds of beautiful birds sitting in the trees. The balcony was absolutely lovely to sit on. The room was amazing too, very clean. Beds very comfortable. And the best shower we’ve had on our entire trip! The owner even helped us with a personal issue we were having, unrelated to her property or Yala. Her cooking is also amazing. I would 100% recommend staying here!

The accommodation is beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the river. We were welcomed with two mango juices as a welcome drink. We booked two nights, but due to a misunderstanding with the booking dates, we had to spend one night at another accommodation. In compensation, we were offered dinner, and the hostess took care of everything with the other place (transport, breakfast, transfer of our luggage, etc.). Everything listed in the description was available at the accommodation. The air conditioning worked well, there was hot water and good water pressure. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. Mithi, the hostess, speaks very good English and is kind and helpful. She responded immediately to messages and assisted us with everything we needed.

“Great stay at Yala Safari River View Hotel!”

As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Mithi. She is a great host and really enjoys her job which makes the stay at Yala Safi River View Hotel special. The room was spacious, the cleanest we have seen during our 2.5 weeks in Sri Lanka and very well and beautifully kept. As the hotel is a 10 minute tuk tuk drive away from the center of Tissamaharama, Mithi even organized a free transfer to the center for us. Also she organized the safari tour as well as our taxi ride to Hiriketiya. We would definitely recommend the hotel!

“Perfect stay for a Yala Safari”

Best place ever! We loved our stay here and this very charming house. We stayed at the main floor and had the tripple room even if we were just two. The room is sooo spacious and incredibly clean. We loved the shower pressure and the instant hot water. It was Mithi who made our stay even more special because of her very kind, funny way to be and her being so helpful. We had also dinner and breakfast that she prepared for us and it not just looked nice, but it also was very tasty! She organized the Safari in Yala Block 1 for us and we were more than happy! The driver was also the guide and he explained everything we wanted to know, saw animals even if they were hidden and drove with calmness. It felt a peaceful way to search for all the animals. As soon as we entered the National Park we saw one leopard lying on a rock 😍 we were super happy! Then we saw family elefants playing in water, buffalos bathing, monkeys playing on the trees and before leaving another leopard was seen over the tree. We had an amazing time during the Safari and in Mithis Homestay!

Very nice owner with fantastic service. Best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka. Nice room. The balcony is huge and has a really nice view of the river and wildlife.
