“Gorgeous place to stay in Tissamahara.”

It was a beautiful jungle oasis. The room and bathroom amazing. The staff ere really helpful and the breakfast was great.

Great place, in the nature, lot of plants, welcoming juice is appreciated! And breakfast in takeaway for your early morning safari ! Rooms are comfy and clean. I highly recommend

“Memorable”

We had the two poolside rooms with friends and had the best time looked after by lovely helpful staff. Breakfast provided including a packed one when we went out early on safari. Dinner at the grill was amazing ❤️

We enjoyed the stay at the Cabanas, the place is very nice, quiet and clean. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. The staff was very kind, Siri and his son were very nice and helpfull. We would repeat coming there!

“The perfect place for your trip to Yala National Park”

Loved everything about this hotel. The service was great and they even provided a packed lunch breakfast for us because we had an early morning safari tour. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone... a little bit of luxury in the heart of the jungle!

The setting was amazing it seemed like a jungle, the staff were excellent, the meal was 5 star, excellent Spanish wine and the fire at dinner an added bonus.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, we stayed in the cabana set in lovely Garden next to a stream where you could watch the wildlife . The swimming pool was great after a day on safari which I recommend you book through the owner as they will arrange everything for a very good price. The room itself was very clean and quiet with good air con and great hot shower with nice comfortable chairs on the balcony to chill out on. I would also recommend the restaurant the food was amazing and the best we had in Sri Lanka and you can watch the chef cooking in the open kitchen in the new restaurant set in the garden which has a lovely ambiance . This is a family business and they and the staff go the extra mile to make your stay the best it can be

“Magical”

We stayed here for 2 nights in March 26. We arrived and were immediately wowed firstly by the diversity of nature and then by the design of the property as a whole. The cabanas are set within a lush plantation of tropical plants & flowers, with a stream running near by. The area is quiet of human noise and full of nature noise! The birdsong, particularly the peacock calls are amazing, you feel like you are in a truly natural environment, where the hosts have considered your every need. Amila and his family offer a fabulous stay, offering guests an amazing experience. Dinner is set in an open restaurant with an immersive view of rice fields, Amilas vegetable garden and small banana plantation. Amila gathers all his fresh ingredients from here. We watched Amila and his wife prepare the finest food that we have eaten so far in Sri Lanka. Prawn & Mango curry full of the best mangoes we’ve ever tasted and try the egg curry, Dhaal and coconut samba for breakfast, delicious. Amila organised the safari for us and we were lucky to get a really close up experience with 2 bull elephants. Then back for pool time surrounded by palms and peacocks.

Beautiful property and very well run. We had a pool room which wa fantastic and the pool was so refreshing. The owner organised a Tiktuk and boat trip out on Tisa was for us. Dinner and breakfast were fabulous too. Top marks

“2 nights at Richards Cabanas”

The pool and restaurant area were really lovely and the food was some of the best we have had in Sri Lanka. The staff organised taxi to and from and our full day safari in Yala which was just incredible.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The property was absolutely stunning, including a lovely pool, BBQ area for dinner and breakfast, and was very clean. For the facilities and setting, it was reasonably priced as well.

“Beautiful place, but an uncomfortable experience”

The place itself is beautiful and the price was quite good for what it offers. Upon arrival, the host was very kind. The room was located in a separate, quiet area away from the reception and restaurant. A highlight was the breakfast prepared for us and delivered to our door at 4:45 a.m. so we could take it to the safari — a very thoughtful gesture, and everything was delicious.
