We had the most wonderful stay at Nehansa. The room and facilities were so clean and comfortable, the food was delicious and we felt so well looked after by Hansi and Chamika. On our first night they showed us the wild deer who come to visit each night, then Dilum took us to a lake nearby where we saw lots of wildlife. Then we did the safari with Nehansa the next day where we were so lucky to see countless elephants, two(!!) leopards in the trees and so much more! We strongly recommend booking your Yala stay and safari with Nehansa.

“Lovely Place”

We stayed here for our Safari Trip to Yala National Park which we booked through the hotel. The trip was great and we saw a lot of animals including Leopards! The accommodation was a lovely calming place and the staff were very attentive. I would definitely stay again.

“Amazing and helpful staff”

Overall very pleasant experience. The staff made a great effort to help out as much as possible (even though they don’t offer a laundry service they took care of that and outsourced it without a problem). Room was comfy, AC worked perfectly fine. The manager organised a nice half-day safari for a very reasonable price. Food there is excellent as well (I had all my lunches and dinners there). Totally recommend that place.

The location was great and allowed us to access Yala early in the morning. The owner took us on a local tour for the evening showing us birdlife on the lagoon, crocodiles and then we watched the numerous fruit bats leave their roost for the evening. They helped sort out Yala safari and the driver met us at the door for a brilliant time at the park spotting animals. He also took us to our next location for a reasonable price and dropped us to our door. They were amazingly welcoming and the room was a good size and clean. For the price it was perfect.

Very good facilities: clean room with AC and a comfortable bed and shower, and good food. But most of all extremely friendly and helpful personell. We received a tour of the local lake in the evening, coffee and cake at 4AM before our safari, fresh home made pastries from their own bakery and we were dropped off at the bus station ~6 km away - all free of charge. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We had a very nice stay at Nehansa Resort Yala. The owner’s behaviour was very welcoming and friendly, and the cleanliness of the resort was excellent. One of the best parts was seeing jungle deer in the garden — you can even feed them, which was a unique experience. They also kindly offered us a complimentary visit to Tissa Lake, which made the stay even more memorable. They also provide safari jeeps.

Excellent value for money . The host kindly arranged our safari to Yala. They also took us into their backyard to feed the wild deer & to a nearby lake to see the bats & crocodiles. They truly went above & beyond.

“A really great place to stay, with the most considerate, kind, and professional staff”

We have stayed in 8 hotels and homestays during our tour of Sri Lanka ... and this was the best, it was exceptional! The room, the location were great. But the thing that really made it was the care, consideration, and friendly approach of the staff and the owner. From fresh coconuts on arrival, to feeding deer in the garden, to bird and bat watching, to very early pre-safari drinks all included. Plus a volunteered free lift the short distance to our chosen restaurant. I 100% recommend a stay here.

Clean location, friendly host who offered us a bonus evening walk to observe the local fauna. We also booked a safari in Yala with their help at a fair price.

“Great place and host”

Nehansa Resort and Safari was a great place to stay at if your goal is the Yala National Park Safari. The place was very neat and tidy, with room service possible. It was a lifesaver when arriving late in the evening and having no energy to go into town for food. The owner was really kind. He offered great safari prices and even drove us to the bus station free of charge, refusing to take payment. Great place experience overall!

“Perfect”

It was one of the best resorts I have ever stayed at. The food was very delicious in the restaurant, the staff were very kind and thoughtful, and the rooms were very clean and well-equipped. There was hot water and even a hair dryer, which is rare in many hotels in Sri Lanka. When we arrived, they welcomed us with fresh coconut water, which was a very sweet gesture. The safari they arranged for us went smoothly and was well organized. On our way back, the owner even offered to drop us at the bus station for free, which was very kind. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay at Nehansa in Jaunuary this year. They were so accommodating to everything we needed. Dilam had our safari already organised for us, making it such an easy experience. (The hands on deer experience was such a nice extra touch too) 10/10 would recommend for your next stay in Tissamaharama.

“Great place, great poeple”

The staff is very nice and very helpful. They will arrange everything for you. The breakfast is delicious and the wifi is highly functional. Also if y travel by bus it is very easy to reach the place. I could use their bike to bicycle around and that was great: the countryside is wonderful, as well as the old stupas in Tissa.

Very happy to help with safari tour. Excellent true Sri lankan food served for dinner and breakfast. Excellent safari driver used by them.

“Best all round accommodation for Yala”

Perfect stay! The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, in a peaceful location close to Yala. Breakfast was amazing – omelette, egg hoppers, fresh fruit, coffee and lovely wood oven toast. We also had two delicious dinners during our stay. Nehansa took us on a evening safari to the lake to see bats and crocodiles, which was such a lovely surprise! They also offer their own jeep safaris – we’d already booked ours elsewhere, but after seeing the high standards here, I wish we’d booked through them. The hosts were fantastic – friendly, helpful and respectful of our privacy. All round, the best accommodation we’ve stayed in. Highly recommended!

The host and all the staff are very friendly and helpful, the house is very nice and surrounded by a beautiful garden. You can feed the deers who come from the forest every morning. The room is very clean, the food is also good. Highly recommend

All the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. The place was really nice and they went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best experience. This is the best place we’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka, I would recommend it to anyone and I would absolutely go back! On the first day they even drove us to see bats and crocodiles, which was one of the coolest experiences we’ve ever had. Best stay and best staff 💯
