The host was really friendly and helpful, she helped us book our safari which we loved! She also packed us a takeaway breakfast of some bread, egg, and fruits. The location was really good for doing the safari, just a short ~25-30 minute drive to the national park. It's a little bit out of the main town of Tissamaharama (about a 25 min walk or short tuk tuk). The owner helped us arrange a tuk tuk to go into Tissamaharama, which was great.

An amazing stay at Lavender Home Yala Safari! The environment was very comfortable, and the host was incredibly kind and helpful. They arranged a great Yala Safari tour for me, which went very smoothly. Bonus points for the food—both lunch and dinner were delicious! Highly recommended if you are visiting Tissa.

Location surrounded by paddy fields. Good AC nice balcony facing fields. Nicely landscaped grounds. Cup of tea on arrival. Comfy beds.

Beautiful homestay that has an unobstructed view of the paddy fields and sunrise. Rooms are clean, spacious with all the basic amenities. Milanshi the host welcomed us with a big smile. She was helpful, very hospitable and made us dinner too. Definitely coming back to stay here longer. Thanks so much once again!

Very nice property with balcony looking over the rice fields. Located 15 minute walk from tissamaharama town centre. Very well presented property and gardens nicely lit at night. The owner was amazing. Very kind woman and went out of her way to make the stay exceptional. Provided taxi/tuk tuk services as required, helped book an excellent safari and provided delicious home cooked meals for a good price.

An absolutely unforgettable stay! The breakfast was amazing every morning — fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. The views were honestly some of the best I’ve ever seen in my life, overlooking the beautiful Sri Lankan rice fields and creating a true paradise atmosphere. What made the experience even more special was the safari we did with them. It was truly one of the most incredible and highly recommended experiences ever! Everything was perfectly organized, and our guide was absolutely amazing — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, making every moment unforgettable. Waking up surrounded by nature, listening to the peaceful sounds around us, and enjoying such breathtaking scenery made this stay truly magical. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique adventure and a perfect getaway!

The hotel is surrounded by green paddy fields, and the view of the countryside from the room was charming. The dinner prepared by the hotel was delicious. Since we went on the Yala Safari early the next morning, the hotel thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast box for us.

“Laid back and comfortable plus great safari”

We loved our very relaxed and warm experience with Milshani at the Lavendar coloured guest house, it has great views of the neighbouring tea fields, and is peaceful yet not to far from town. Milshani is a very kind and chilled out person, also very responsive on whatsapp which I find important Definitely recommend the guide that she organised for our safari, we had a very memorable experience of Yala and it was reasonably priced

Organised great safari and taxis for us

Our stay was very comfortable, with a balcony looking out over the rice fields, and the host was very attentive. She helped organise our safari trip to Yala National Park and also cooked us two delicious evening meals (up there with some of the best rice and curry we tried). Highly recommend

The view of the rice fields from the balcony was very nice. The host prepared a tasty Srilankan dinner for us and arranged a taxi to take us to our next destination.

Mahesh was an amazing host and the room was clean and well equipped with hot water and A/C. The rooms are in a beautiful house with a balcony veranda overlooking the rice paddy fields which is so picturesque. The food was also brilliant including Kotthu and rice and curry. We organised a safari through the home stay and were lucky enough to see leopards elephants and lots of other wildlife. I’d highly recommend this property if you are hoping to do a safari or even if you just want a relaxing stay in the pleasant town of Tissa.
