This is a hidden gem and we are so glad to have found it! It is located right on the lakefront, and we enjoyed the view from our room and pool looking over the lake and watching crocodiles, birds and buffalo. The staff were just incredible and such an asset to the hotel. They organised our transfers to and from the hotel, and shared local treasures on the journey each way. If you are heading into Yala, please book their local driver at the National Park who was such a professional in finding and respecting animals - we saw 2 leopards along with so much wildlife.

Such a beautiful setting. Fantastic to swim in the pool with the lake in the background. They arranged a full day safari for us and provided packed breakfast. What a wonderful day that was. The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

They offered me vegetarian options and I had an amazing big and tasty breakfast at the unique scenery of the lake. The safari I booked with the hotel was well organized. “Beautiful place in the middle of the nature 🌿”

Great value for money! It is a beautiful place in the middle of the nature right next to the lake. There is a possibility to see different kind of animals from crocodiles to monkeys like we did on our stay. There is also a really nice pool area with a couple of sunbeds. Service was excellent and the staff was very helpful, hospitable and kind. The food was good, especially rice and curry. There was this one waiter who took a really good care of us and also prepared us a breakfast table right by the lake. Whenever it took a little bit longer to make the food for us the staff always let us know beforehand. We booked Yala National park safari directly from the hotel and everything went really smoothly. The breakfast they had made us in the hotel to take to the safari was really good (I really don't understand what the people who complained about the breakfast here in the reviews were expecting, caviar and champaign? 😅) and our driver for the safari day was a real professional; talented driver and he made sure we had the most memoriable day possible. I think there are few things to keep in mind before booking, not exactly anything bad but something to be aware of so it doesn't come as a surprise when arriving to the resort: -The resort wasn't build yesterday, so the buildings are old. With that service and price tho I didn't see it as a problem, but the resort could use some renovation in the future. -The resort is located in the middle of the nature, so there are a lot of wildlife around. And as it doesn't maybe come as a surprise to anyone, whenever there's water, there are also mosquitos and other bugs around. -The resort seems to be a popular celebration place for the locals. When we were staying there, there were a wedding on our second day on the resort. That didn't bother us but if you are a light sleeper then it's something to maybe be taken under consideration.

Perfect location for a Yala safari stopover. In fact wish we could stay here longer. Staff couldn’t do enough to help. Unbelievable value for money. Swimming pool was fabulous in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended

This hotel was absolutely amazing, the staff were friendly, the rooms were excellent,and the pool was great, the food was beautiful and we even had the experience of the safari the overall experience was a 10/10 would definitely recommend and stay again.

“Lake Village is a gem of a place. If you like nature, it’s the place to stay.”

The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond in ensuring every visitor’s needs are met. They packed us a picnic breakfast and lunch to take on our full day safari which left at 4.30am. The rooms are rustic and have a fantastic view over the lake which is home to birds, buffalo and the occasional elephant passing through. It is peaceful and the gardens immaculately kept.

There are so many birds and other animals so close to the lake. We actually enjoyed this resort even more than Yala National Park! The food is very good and always freshly prepared. If we are ever in Sri Lanka again, we would love to return to this little paradise! ;)

I had a wonderful experience at Lake villa resort From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
