“Perfect host family!”

Everything was perfect and the host family is amazing. We arrived a little bit with stomach problems. She tooks care for us, making a soup, ginger beer. Next day we have been able to join a safari which she organised for us. We had breakfast and dinner there for two days and the food is brilliant! We hope one day we can come back. By the way the house has a shower and toilet, a wonderful view.

It has a unique view of the fields and lake - loads of peacocks and monkeys. Lovely balcony to chill out, amazing tree house . Was taken to the bats and given tea . Such a lovely family 😀

The family is super nice, we could even half a walk on their rice fields and they prepared breakfast and dinner upon request, which was very tasty! It's absolutely beautiful overlooking the rice fields, especially for sunrise. The ventilator in the room is enough for the heat, we even had it switched off during the night to sleep. The room is big, the bath as well, and very nice. You are basically in nature, so some insects will come, but you have a big mosquito net over your bed so that didn't matter at all. I would highly recommend this place, and it's only a short (and 2$) tuktuk ride away from the city center.

“PERFECT IN A PERFECT ENVIRONMENT”

I love this place so much. The authenticity and value for money are worth staying here. This is my 4th accommodation on the South Coast and is my favorite. The children and their amazing laughs, the accommodation, and the food—why would you not try the true Sri Lankan hospitality? The idyllic surroundings, rustic and very clean room, with total privacy, are one of a kind. If you're a tourist and do not want to experience real Asian culture, then you might be disappointed. However, if you're a traveler who loves to experience something different, then here it is. Embrace the surroundings and you'll feel the peace and tranquility of this beautiful place. I would definitely come back here.

“Perfect stay with Yala park visit”

Exactly as imagined: a realy heartfelt stay with a local family at an unique location. They are setting up a business and do their utmost best to make you feel welcome. The father is a ranger as well, so in the evening during golden hour he and his eldest daughter drove us with the jeep around the lake and showed us a rare location where thousands and thousands off bats took off from the trees for their nightly flight. It was an unique sight and it was nice to chat away with the daughter during bat take off. Afterwards we had at home the best Sri Lanka dinner so far. Sleeping was also very fine, no airco - don't expect that - but the fan made it comfortable. Early the next morning, well before sunrise, we went to the Yala national park. Because it was national holiday he took us to a less busy area. First at the gate. After asking what we would appriciate as an experience, he managed to show us the leopard, allthough that's not for granted. But that's how it was: he did his utmost best. And to top it off he handed out a Sri Lankan breakfast at the park at a lovely spot. It was perfect, an experience we sought, far above the price they ask.

Amazing tree house over looking rice paddies. A really nice place to relax. Room and bed are large and comfortable. The family who runs this are really nice. The mum is a an excellent cook (definitely take dinner at the cabana) and brings you tea in a big teapot. The dad is a safari guide and he was really good... we got to see the leopard! The safari included breakfast and the price was really good.

“You must stay here. Most scenic and authentic Sri Lankan experience.”

We cannot even begin to put into words how amazing this stay was. It wasn’t just a homestay, it was an authentic Sri Lankan experience. We would 1000% recommend this to everyone. Our host, Sureni, did everything to make our stay one to remember. Her and her eldest daughter, Anujana, collected fresh flowers and laid petals on the bed and on the floor of the cabana because we are on our honeymoon. We ate here every night and the food was incredible. All homemade. Usually 3 different types of currys and a salad which were always different from the night before, rice and popadoms and a little something sweet for dessert. We left that table every night STUFFED! We loved chatting away to her 6 year old daughter, Sayumdi, and watching her dance and teaching her games. We also loved having cuddles with 9month old baby, Keyara. As well as eating and spending time with the family we went on safari with the hosts husband, I.G. He was so knowledgeable about the different plants, animals and birds. He basically had binocular vision and could spot anything as he was driving around. We saw 5 leopards, lots of elephants, deer, crocodiles. We would 100% recommend the full day private safari with I.G. We loved the family and the Cabana so much we extended our stay. We borrowed bicycles and cycled around the towns and lakes near by. The people in the area surrounding are so friendly and wanting to talk to you and introduce their families to you. We even got offered a lift from a pick up truck driver. The cabana itself is a well built, rustic tree house, giving you the best views of the lakes and rice paddies. Complete tranquility. We watched the sunrise in the mornings, the farmers working the fields in the day and watched the fireflies at night. The pillows are fluffy, the shower is powerful and the bed is bigger than a double. There are too many good things to say about this stay. It has been our favourite place during our trip and we will be returning next time we’re in Sri La

It was our best stay in Sri Lanka. Every was perfect: the peaceful location, the kindness of the host family. They made you feel at home and they cooked amazing home meals, thank you so much! We would have stayed longer

“An absolute must place to stay!”

By far my most favourite place we stayed so far in Sri Lanka. So pleased we booked for 2 nights and not just 1 for our safari. Was absolutely perfect after a busy week sightseeing in sigirya,kandy, nuwara eliya and ella. Cabana is beautiful in idyllic surroundings. The family who own it are so special and very attentive with beautiful children who speak english very well and are very polite. They are also very curious about you and i had a lot of fun interacting with them and playing in the garden along with their dog bruno. They brought us tea, freshly made juice and even cooked a delicious meal for us. In the afternoon after our safari they sorted us with some bicycles so we could cycle the surrounding areas and into the town. Think this was a highlight of my holiday as was just what i needed and everyone was super friendly saying hello when we passed. The local area is stunning also and we got to see some wildlife.

The view and the host were just amazing. The cabana is the only "room" they rent and you can feel they really care about your well being, giving u suggestions on the activities without being intrusive and offering help without expecting anything back. It has been, by far, the best accomodation I got in Sri Lanka.

Lovely people who take good care of their guests. The cabana is located in a beautiful scenery overviewing rice fields and a lake. They offer food which is so good! They also offer a safari which we did and we saw many elephants, a leopard, crocodiles, buffalo’s ect.

Without doubt one of the favorite homestays I stayed during my time in Sri Lanka! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the family. We had three great days here, which obviously also added up to the experience. I truly enjoyed walking through the village. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.

The tree house in amazing, with great view over the rice fields with lots of animals/birds. The family who owns the place are so adorable and helpful. They lent us bikes, made food for us and where just nice to talk to. They’re kids speak very good english and wanted to interact with us, we enjoyed it. The food was AMAZING. Best rice and curry we have had, many varied options and huge portions.

The family owner is so kind and attentive and the location is gorgeous.

The food cooked by the family was insane! The best we had in Sri Lanka! She also keept it a bit less spicy for us. We also enjoyed the view and relaxing location, finally had time and quite place to think, relax and grab thaughts. The daughters int he family are very friendly and speak perfect english. They shared with us home made sweets and gave the recipe. That was very nice and peaceful stay. We would definitely recommend it and the price was very good for this what we had. We enjoyed some talks and discussions about sri lankan politics and culture with the owners. Very good place and people.

The food that they cooked for us (rice and curry) was amazing. Probably the best we had in Sri Lanka. The view from the treehouse was beautiful! The Hostfamily was always super helpful with everything! Overall we had a great time.

“Our favourite stay in Sri Lanka”

Everything about this stay was perfect. From arriving and being greeted with a king coconut to the delicious homemade curries that were home cooked for us. I read the previous reviews so expected a wonderful stay here, but still somehow our last 2 nights here have still exceeded these expectations. The family are so lovely, kind and hard-working and will do anything to ensure your stay is as best as possible. We wanted to go to explore the area so they were able to arrange some peddle bikes for us. The safari that provided by the family themselves was also so worth the money, what an excellent, knowledgable tour guide he was. I do not have a bad or negative word to say about our time here, everything was just fabulous. The views are incredible and it is situated in a beautiful area where you are really in the middle of nature and wildlife. You would be silly not to visit here, especially considering how affordable the price is. Best place we have stayed so far from our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka, just a wonderful family. I definitely recommend the curries offered for tea and the safari. Thank you.
