The host and the staff were fabulous and absolutely went the extra mile to ensure their guests were happy. The owner also helped me with booking a place on an all day safari at Yala for me and was very attentive throughout my stay. Both, breakfast and dinner are available. the location next to the lake was great for observing wildlife. There was also a Swimming pool for a relaxing morning or evening swim. I can very much recommend a stay at Lake Edge Holiday Inn .

“A hidden gem!”

The setting, beside the lake and with beautifully planted gardens is immediately captivating. The warm welcome, with cold, freshly squeezed juice adds to this. My spacious en-suite room with glass wall onto the generous balcony overlooking the lake and the pool (with loungers, showers & hammock) makes me wonder if I've made a mistake and booked in someplace way beyond my budget. I loved the eco credentials: waste water from showers and sinks waters the garden, solar panels are on the roof. The staff were unfailingly charming, friendly and so, so helpful, helping me with onward travel and making me feel like a favoured guest. Dinner & drinks - delicious, breakfast - generous and good. Only 5 minutes by tuktuk from the town centre, but it feels like another world, so peaceful. And the bed - best nights sleep since I got to Sri Lanka!

“A really nice place, it can just be busy!”

For the price, the rooms here were AMAZING. Super big and spacy, with a really nice balcony with a really nice view. The food was also good, and the staff were super friendly/helpful.

When we arrived to hotel they just Said hotel is fully booked. The girl in reception said she did not checked booking.com status last 24 hours. We was 12 pers. And it was so difficult to find new hotel. Dont trust this hotel till u r there

Very nice place to stay when doing Yala safari. Next to the lake, great views. Staff is extremely friendly, food is great and at a very good price. Family room is very spacious, with amazing views.

“Night with insects”

Tons of insects and lizards in the room. Walls had many stains from killed bugs. Mosquito net for the bed was dirty with plenty of dark stains and some holes in it.

Pool and balcony view

All staff is very gentle and full of attentions. Location is perfect just 2 kilometers away from a lake with giant bats and many birds. Dinner excellent also, and the swimming pool is nice to refresh after a safari day. To sum up : a great discovery !

The accommodation is in a really beautiful location surrounded by stunning nature. The property is large and beautiful. The rooms were okay (large rooms, nice balcony, fresh water, but the walls were a bit dirty)

Good location near the lake, clean and spacious rooms, cool patio, assisted us with booking a safari which left us very happy. There was a power outage but they managed to quickly secure a generator and serve dinner.

We were only there for one night. The drive round the lake, (we took the scenic route), was fantastic. So many birds and lotus flowers. The view of the lake from our room was just as lovely. The lady of the hotel was very helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and comfortable

The property is relatively easy to find, and right beside a lake. Rooms were spacious with a thoughtfully made balcony. Despite us reaching during a busy period, Lakmali (who heads/ manages the place) and her staff were welcoming. They were also nimble in responding to requests for ad hoc food preparations and assisting with a birthday celebration. There were minor niggles around power outage and water supply. However warmth of the managing team was more than enough to overlook those.

Beautiful hotel immersed in nature with the lake surrounding the property and lots of trees and a lovely pool. Very comfortable and clean rooms with very friendly host who helped us book a wonderful safari and was accommodating and helpful in every way.

The owner welcomed us in a very friendly manner, on departure we got lunch without having it included in our booking. Furthermore, she was able to find a cab driver that drove us to Ella at a large discount in comparison to the typical price. The room was clean and had a balcony and is located closely to a lake. There are different animals like peacocks living on the property. Her brother is offering Safari tours and is a very experienced tour guide despite being still young. We combined a Safari tour to the Yala National Park with our stay at Lake Edge Holiday Inn and the organisation of the trip was very good.
