“Strongly recommend you to try this jungle style with air-conditioner lakeside hotel!”

The room and services exceeded the expectation. On the night upon our arrival, the hsot had already asked about our dinner preferences and prepared everything so we could relax and enjoy the meal right after the safari. - Room: spacious enough for multiple suitcases, with kettle, refrigerator, and kitchenware provided. The air-conditioner and fan worked well to cool the room, you may want to switch them off with just a thin sheet at night. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room was clean, tidy and bug-free. Convenient sockets were placed by the bedside and in the lounge area. - Bathroom: designed with a jungle theme, it felt like bathing in the wild. Small frogs often appeared near the sink or toilet-nothing to fear, as they are part of wildlife. Just remember to close the toilet lid to keep them out. Toiletries, hair dryer and towels are provided though only cold water was available. Cleanliness was well maintained. - Food: the dining area faces the lake, making it a perfect spot to relax while enjoying meals and drinks. Portions were generous, so better request smaller servings to avoid food waste during their difficult times. - Carpark: parking was right in front of the room, making it safer and convenient to manage your belongings. - Service: the host was friendly, talkative and knowledgeable on recognizing the birds as he worked as a guide before. He shared the books and encouraged us to record the species sighting from the lake on the dining wall. He was always ready the food for us, so you won’t get hungry after the trip. - Location: just one step from the lake which is the easiest spot to catch the sunrise and sunset, and watch the birds flying in the early morning. This privilege the nearby hotel, which requires you to walk across their fences, can’t offer.

“Don’t miss this beautifully decorated, peaceful homestay”

The kind and friendly host will make sure you have the perfect experience. The homestay is very specious, clean, comfortable and really nicely decorated, it’s overlooking the beautiful lake. You are surrounded by wild birds and a little tortoise even came up to the homestay from the lake. The host organises a great safari, with a guide that tell you all you need to know about the park and wildlife. Thanks for a great stay!

Great stay and rooms and place are super cozy. The host is great and I will definitely be coming back with my family for another adventure!

Our host was fabulous, cooked for us both evenings. He arranged a really great 1/2 day safari jeep to Yala, early start though! And then told us about the dusk fruit bats which was spectacular. Thanks for everything 👌

Super lovely location. Directly at a beautiful lake and the rooms are super nice. Especially the outside bathroom is great. The host is lovely and will help you out with everything and cook you super good meals!

“Great location by the lake”

The property is really clean and well kept. It was nice to have a host that prepared the food fresh (all the food we had here was delicious). The breakfast was great as well as the coffee! It was really pleasant to take the breakfast with a view to the lake where we could see birds flying. The host was also very helpful at organising a great safari ( he came along as well and was a great spotter!) and was overall super fun. The only downside of the property is the location as it's far away from supermarkets but the host is always happy to arrange a tuk tuk. They could have also provided more blankets and soap to wash hands. It was one of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka!

The hosts were super friendly and open to me. The room was very bright, large and beautiful. Outside the gate you encounter a more then beautiful lake with lots of birds and plants.

A lovely small guest house in an amazing location with a wonderful host. Had a great time watching the birds on the lake, enjoying tasty and plentiful breakfasts and enjoying the company of Lalith - he is amazing and has such a passion to help guests and give them insight into his wonderful country.

The best place we stayed during our 10 days trip to Sri Lanka. Super friendly and helpful host, cosy room, comfy beds, nice breakfast.

Lal was a brilliant host,,his accommodation is scrupulously clean,,he could not do enough to make my stay as memorable as possible. He is a good cook,,as well as being entertaining company. Lal has a great knowledge of the wildlife of the local area, he organised a memorable trip to Yala National Park,,where I saw some of the amazing wildlife of beautiful Sri Lanka. Birds ,reptiles, mammals,insects etc. I was also fortunate enough to visit his lovely family home,,on the which was a joy. Regards Matt Greene.

“Staying by the lake was ideal for this birdwatcher”

Host Lal is extremely attentive to his guests needs. Properties are right beside a lake with lots of birds to view and watch the Water Buffalo being taken for swims. Lal himself is interested in birds and wildlife so is more than happy to book you tours and accompany you if you wish. Tell him what you want to eat and he will buy fresh and cook for you. Rooms are clean and bedding too. I believe his years at sea as a Steward prepared him well for looking after his guests.
