“Great place to stay for Yala safari”

Really good place to stay if you are wanting to do Yala safari. Pradeep is really informative & helpful and does all the organising for you so all you have to do is turn up. He also offers a good fair price. It is really close to the safari so you don’t have to wake up as early as you might think as the drive is quite quick. Comfortable beds and plenty of showers/toilets so you aren’t ever waiting around.

Staff are amazing. Pradeep was extremely kind and helped me out in a pinch. He also speaks excellent English. The location was very quiet and relaxing, there is a full kitchen and bathroom facilities are great.

“Friendly owners and well-located to the safari”

Owners were very friendly. It was only for a one night stay so I didn't make such a big fuss about it so long I had a roof over my head. It feels more like a guesthouse than a hostel. When I booked this place, the owner Pradeep was very patient in replying to my queries via Whatsapp. Overall the place is clean and well-located if you wish to go for the safari, but perhaps it'd be better if there were instructions in the toilet on how the shower works as I realised there was no water coming out from the shower head, no matter how I turned the tap and I had to seek help. When I told Pradeep that I didn't manage to see leopards at the safari, he actually offered me to stay an additional night but I already have plans to go to Mirissa and catch a flight after that. I guess he understands the disappointment that guests feel when they do not see any leopards and he wants all his guests to have an enjoyable stay. I was touched by his gesture, but I told him that it's alright and I understand that whether you see leopards or not depends on your luck. Even though I didn't see leopards, I still enjoyed the safari and it didn't dampen my mood.

Very nice hostel in quiet location about 10 min walk from bus station. My double room had a large comfortable bed with mosquito net and very effective air conditioning. Pleasant lounge to sit in. Shared bathroom was clean and towels were provided. There was also a more basic outside toilet and shower if necessary. Free use of a large kitchen with an electric kettle. The manager was very helpful and friendly. He organised a tuk tuk to Kataragama and a minivan taxi to Ella for me. He can also arrange trips to Yala NP. WiFi was slowish but ok. Better in early hours of morning

Very communicative, genuine hosts. Clean and comfortable and easy walk from bus station. Hostel arranged really good safari. Kind, attentive hostel staff who was up early to make coffee and make sure I got to my safari. Would stay again

“My favourite stay in Sri Lanka”

Can not recommend this place enough! Feels more like a home than a hostel, huge dorm rooms, immaculately clean and smells lovely as you walk in. The owner, Pradeep, was really friendly, humble and caring. He arranged my group safari tour of Yala for a very reasonable price and made us all coffee in the morning before we left for it and breakfast at the park. Very informative and taught me various different things about Sri Lanka. The best shower and sleep I’ve had the entire time I’ve been in the country. Above and beyond on looking after me during my stay would be an understatement. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and for your kindness!
