Super friendly host who happily organized everything for us, from the safari to our onward trip. The breakfast was amazing and the garden is absolutely incredible. Can only recommend this place!

“Great host and very relaxing stay”

The host was incredibly friendly and helped us organise both our safari and transport for the next part of our journey. The cabanas are cool and comfortable, set within a beautiful garden full of wildlife we saw a mongoose and monitor lizards. Breakfast was relaxing, served out on the cabana terrace, which made for a lovely start to the day. The full-day safari that was organized for us was excellent. We were lucky enough to see a leopard, elephants, and a bear. Our host also woke up at 4 a.m. to see us off for the safari, which was above and beyond what we would normally expect The whole place had a good vibe.

The outlook was beautiful and peaceful and we loved that land monitors, and mongooses came close by, as well as geckos and birds. The room was lovely and we enjoyed having a fridge there. The ceiling fan didn’t work but we didn’t need it as the air con worked very effectively. Breakfast was served to our patio table and it was very nice - first time I’d had Hopper and I like it! Host was helpful and organised a safari to Bundala Bird National Park and advised us the prices to expect for boat trips on the lake. There were shops and cafes nearby too which we could walk to. And of course it’s not far to Yala National park (where we were lucky enough to see 4 Leopards!)

“Wonderful hospitality”

The cabanas are located in a large, beautiful garden close to a small river. It’s a very peaceful and relaxing place — perfect for unwinding and enjoying nature. However, the true value of this place is Mr. Chaminda, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and well taken care of. When he noticed that I didn’t go out for dinner, he kindly prepared a meal for me. The next morning, at 4 a.m., he served me tea and prepared a takeaway breakfast before my safari tour. The hospitality exceeded my expectations. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm and caring atmosphere.

Very clean and spacious. Big nethroom Staff Chaminda was beyond expectation. Lovely setting outside the room with table and chairs where the staff brought our breakfast. Big , tasty breakfast.

A nice place, Gayan the host is great, good breakfast, comfortable bed, nice garden with monkeys, monitor lizards and mongoose.

Super nice owner, helped us with what we needed. Beautiful, big, clean cabin with all facilities needed, fridge, ac. We saw many animals in the backyard, black faced monkeys, birds, peacocks. Super breakfast.

Super nice and clean room and de garden is beautiful. The host is very kind and gave us fresh mango juice with mango from his garden! He cleaned our tuktuk and helped us with booking a safari!

Very spacious cabanas setup in green space where you are surrounded by nature and birds humming. Great value for money! Easy organisation of Yala Safari with Rumesh who is very knowledgeable and gave us a great experience.

Sweet cottage with a lovely garden. Room was soacious and very clean. Owner helpt arrange an early morning safari. He made us a breakfast to go, lend us his binoculars made sure we didnt get overcharged. We enjoyed our stay at Tissa.

“Amazing retreat surrounded by wildlife!”

I would 100% recommend this property if you are doing yala park. Gayan and Manori were amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful. They even recommended great restaurants in the area. Gayan provided a wonderful trip to yala park and even let us check in early and check out late to fit around our safari tour. He was great at spotting all the wildlife and also an amazing driver. In terms of the property it was very good value for money. It was very well kept, clean and with new facilities (ie bathroom). It’s a beautiful location with wildlife surrounding you. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Tissamarama.

This place is a real gem. The bungalow is spacious, modern, with cool air conditioning and a fridge. The surroundings are lush and you can sit and watch nature. It was paradise for us. The owners are lovely too, welcoming us with tea. We also booked a safari through them and it was great. They packed us a breakfast to go for the day. Restaurants are also close by. Highly recommend!
