Clean, Comfortable. Easy access to beach and jetty. The sea and beach is so beautiful. Free laundry service. Owner and staffs are very friendly and helpful. We had a nice stay here. We joined their Exclusive Advance Snorkeling and it was really value for money, we enjoyed the activity so much.

Basic, but functional

The host was exceptional, made us feel at home. The whole place is designed to make guests feel as comfortable as possible.

“Welcoming guest house by the sea”

This is a family run guest house located by the beach. The rooms were very clean, tidy and bug free. The rooms are accessed by an internal corridor, so if you like a sunny room this is not for you. They have an entertainment room with tons of DVD's and a karaoke machine which we used after a few drinks. On the beach, there is a raised outdoor deck area with a couple of tables, some lounge chairs and tv. Also some weights if you had the inclination. Its the PERECT place to watch the sun set and have a few drinks. We ate quite a few meals cooked by the grandmother and it was delicious home cooked food. She grew a lot of her own vegetables which she used in her cooking. The owner Wi, organised trips for us to snorkel at different spots and took us out after making sure we had some additional snorkel training to ensure we were confident and safe. I have snorkelled a lot and these were the best trips I have ever been on, we saw turtles, sharks, giant puffer fish and so much amazing coral. From this guesthouse, you can also snorkel off beach which is something I think is valuable. There is a nice house reef there and lots to see. We loved the warmth and hospitality shown to us from Wi and his family, it was like a home from home while we stayed there. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. I thoroughly recommend this guest house.

The owner, Mr. Wee, and his family are exceptional. If you want to visit or snorkel on this island, Mr. Wee is extremely knowledgeable and serious. He provided us with the best snorkelling tours. Furthermore, we had a big problem with transportation to leave the island and Mr. Wee's help was invaluable. We will forever be extremely grateful. It is a basic hotel but it is highly recommended. It has everything you need and it is clean and cosy.

Fantastic beachfront place run by the fabulous Wee and his family. Wee and his mum took our family (kids 9 & 11) on a brilliant snorkelling afternoon by boat to Coral Island. This was a really pretty place to go where we snorkelled twice and had a stop on a very white sand beach. We saw 5 reef sharks, turtles, beautiful coral and fish and due to the thorough preparation of Wee with our kids, they were excited to see the sharks, not scared! Wee’s mum also snorkelled with us and followed behind our group, providing an extra layer of safety - she was fantastic, always smiling and interacting with us despite no common language. Wee takes utmost care in all he does - shown by how much love he’s put into the accommodation where he’s thought of everything to make a stay very comfortable and relaxing.

“Great place to stay and unforgettable snorkeling tour”

Very nice and very clean accommodation. You get everything you need. Wee and his family take excellent care of their guests. But the very best thing was the snorkeling tour. In the afternoon before the snorkeling trip we were fully prepared by Wee for the next day at the house reef in front of the accommodation (advanced training). How to behave in shallow water, how to best get the water out of your diving goggles, how to let yourself drift in a relaxed manner. The next day, Wee took us to an incredible place in his motorboat. A great reef, very shallow water, an incredible number of colorful fish, baby sharks, a sea turtle ... everything you could wish for and all very close. And we were all alone ... just Wee, his super nice mother and another family ... no other boat, no other tourists. I can't imagine a better way to experience Tioman. Thank you, Wee !

This place is located in the peaceful Genting village. It’s clean and comfy. Great for families with kids. The Advanced snorkeling course is fantastic. The host is super friendly and helpful, bring us to the amazing snorkeling spots.

Wee and family are amazing hosts. The care they offered us was special, we felt at home. We enjoyed every single moment of our stay. The property is charming and amazingly cleaned, with a beautiful terrace facing the sea. We enjoyed many snorkelling sessions under the guidance of Wee and his mom, they are very knowledgeable and caring about safety and environment. We really recommend this beautiful property for your stay in Tioman, especially if you look for a place authentic and genuine, run with love and care. I read all the comments before - and it is everything true. This location in Genting is amazing. Wee and his family- especially his mum- are so warm, welcoming and caring, also with our kids. We stayed there 4 nights - and we were sorry to leave this wonderful place. Located at the beach, where there is mostly no one except some locals, the rooms are very clean. Small but comfortable and everything you need. In addition, there is a nice veranda to relax and enjoy the view, a tea and play room for all guests to use. We did a snorkeling tour with Wee, which was away from other tourists- wonderful underwater views, crystal clear water and a sandy beach, sth beautiful I have never seen before. Wee was guiding us and showed and explained us everything - also how to snorkle . We can highly recommend - if you plan to go to Tioman, stay there and you will not regret it.

Our second stay at the X-Rector. Wee is an outstanding host, and his mom is an excellent cook. Great home-stay atmosphere in a beautiful peaceful location. Exceptional place for families to visit. We will visit again for sure!

The location is very good and peaceful. Owner is very helpful and insightful about Tioman and does a very good guidance and recommendation. It is managed by family and they have kept the property very well, food is available as well on request. Highly recommend this property for couple or family who would like to explore Tioman in a right way. Our kids were very happy during the whole stay for 4 nights and wanted to extend the stay.. they saw variety of sea life during the snorkeling trip organized by the owner of the property - Mr Wee

Very unique, and relaxing atmosphere, ideal for short family getaway holiday.

If you are planning to visit Tioman Island and are looking forward to the underwater scenery you saw in the Nemo movie, I definitely recommend this accommodation in Genting Village. The reason is that the sea in front of the x-recter accommodation is specialized in snorkelling and is incomparable to the sea in front of other villages. This is not a tourist spot like Paya, but a quiet, beautiful village where local people live in peaceful harmony and is not crowded with tourists as well. Host Yee has underwater maps in his brain derived from his long experience, and seems to be a wonderful instructor and host who can not only help with snorkelling and free diving, but also heal people who are afraid of the sea. While our family was there, we saw one of the most powerful and unforgettable sights which we have never experienced before. During the advanced snorkelling session with host Yee and his lovely mother, I was able to see a sea turtle from half a meter distance. Following Yee's guidance, we carefully approached the sea turtle and were able to touch its back shell avoiding its mouth. Circling around us were many sharks which appear to be as long as 1M. In addition, there were puffer fish groups, eels nestled between the rocks, and colorful, pretty fish and corals. To be honest I've seen the Nemo fish so many times during snorkelling that it felt ordinary compared to other special fish. Above all, I think I have never seen such a magnificent, colorful and beautiful coral area in my life. It felt like an extended version of the Nemo movie that actually exists. It felt unreal and so extraordinary that it felt bigger than the movie itself. Next, let's talk about his accommodation. In short it is not a large-scale luxurious resort, but he and his family who run the accommodation are very efficient and they did not cause any disturbance so that we did not feel any inconvenience during our stay.

We loved the peaceful serenity of the terrace and Genting village. The host's cooking was excellent and the snorkelling session was well thought out. The host took time to make sure we were comfortable using the equipment before heading out to the reef.
