“Paradisiac Island”

Amazing, peaceful and quiet place to stay. Closest place to paradise I've seen. Amazing food provided by the doña Luz and his handy guy Bryan, for the transport and tour there is her son Gabriel. We did the bioluminescent plankton activity and it was amazing, you can also go snorkeling and trekking. At the moment there wasn't current water. Remember that the ferry from Cartagena to the islands S. Bernardo cost 150k each way per person

“Not worth the stay”

I would not recommend to stay on the island at all. Instead you can take daily tours! There is no running water, streets or paths to walk around or move freely. You are basically depending on the boats and activities to move around (all have their costs) and food choices are limited. Sand beaches where you can sit or lie down comfortably not easily accessible. Villa luz beach charges as much as other places (around 30 euros a night for a dorm bed; during new year's eve holiday) however does not compare to them. You feel that this money is not at all invested in the place even though it has been operating for 4 years. There are few comfortable options for sitting by the beach (you cannot stay on the stoney ground). The rooms lack basic furniture like mirrors, cupboards, lockers, doorlocks, etc.). Simply the place lacks charm and care. This hut is not recommended for travellers who require certain minimum standards regarding hygiene or professionality. I had no possibility to properly wash my hands (with soap). It cannot compare to other "hostels" in the country. If you have any chronic diseases or an acute one/ infection you should be aware that the next small town is one hour away and boats operate around once a day. Luz and her family try their best to help their guests when they have any needs, however for the price being charged the service offered is not acceptable.

Friendly atmosphere and nice food

There Personal was super loveley and they help with every questions or problem you have. The hospitality is also great. My stay felt like being part of their family. All in all a recommendation!
