This is an amazing place if you want to reconnect, not only relax. It seems a lot of people spend just 1 day or two on the islands but i believe this deserves a bit more time. The place has a very special character and it allows you to rewire. Not to mention the staff headed by Luis, who are incredibly friendly, kind, available, easy-going, who prepare delicious food with all their heard. This place has a soul if you care to stay there for real and not just check it up.

“In general - expensive and isolated. But made up for it with their effort and great staff”
The property is very quiet, perfect for if you are wanting to completely chill. The staff did their best to make us comfortable and really went above and beyond to accommodate my proposal which I really appreciated. They did an incredible job and I couldn’t have been happier! Generally excellent food. The plankton tour is the best nature based thing I’ve ever done in my life. Unbelievable.

“Paradise on earth, great snorkeling location!”
Amazing location in the Caribbean! We definitely recommend the chalet option, we loved the view on the mangroves from the bathroom, where you can admire the colourful crabs and we even spotted two raccoons passing by! They are currently expanding with 3 additional chalets. The water in front is a snorkeling paradise, with underwater plants, corals and loads of tropical fish in shallow water for as far as you can see. The water is calm and you can swim quite far out of the shore, just be sure to wear a floating jacket and buoy for safety. Also bring some protective shoes to protect yourselves and the corals, the water is quite shallow and corals are hiding inbetween the waterplants. We also did some tours with the hotel which are done with the hotel boat, our favourite is the reef snorkeling tour. It was the most beautiful snorkeling we ever done, and is only 1 km straight across the hotel on the edge of the archipelago. So magical we did this tour twice! The plankton tour is also recommended, but requires the moon to be down for more darkness, in our case at 4.00 a.m. Also amazing to see the stars at night! Lastly we did the islands tour, which brings you around the 3 main islands (Tintipan, Mucura and Islote) and a stop on each (we combined it with a reef snorkeling tour). We passed numerous hotels, but concluded El Embrujo was indeed the best choice. Seems the sea can be somewhat rougher on other sides of the islands, or less underwater life/deeper sea. The kiosk at their own pier is also the best place to watch the sunset every night, and during the day is a nice cool shadow oasis with some wind in (for me) too hot conditions on the shore. Due to the Caribbean weather probability of being more volatile, we booked extra nights to ensure we at least would have some good days. Prior to arrival the weather forecast showed rain and thunder everyday, so we were quite worried.

“Worthwhile stay but limited food options”
Great team taking care of us and organizing different activities. Subwing and swimming in plankton were definitely highlights. Recommendations: Weather can be unpredictable. Strong winds the first night let us miss a jacket/hoodie while the second one was quite hot with mosquitoes all over the place. You also have to be aware that you won’t have public electricity (and thus, no Starlink) from about 9 am till 5 pm so take a power bank.

“Definitely recommend!”
In the beginning I was thinking the price was too high for a shared dorm… when you get there you get what you are paying, the place looks like a resort! The staff is amazing, super kind people, as well as the atmosphere. Drinks also are great! I am a backpacker, so during my travel I don’t usually go to expensive places, but I was attracted mainly by the plancton tour. I am glad I’ve been there. It’s a unique experience, one of the best I’ve ever had. They will provide you snorkeling masks and take you to see the shiny jellyfish! Trust me it’s totally worth it, I also did another plancton tour in Cartagena but there is no competition. To see good plancton with proper masks and snorkel, go to el embrujo. Mosquitoes have not been a problem during my stay.

“mixed feelings, night plankton is a must do!!”
Mixed feelings, some things were amazing, some things i didn’t like. First i’ll start with the positive things. -the snorkeling in the morning at 04:30 was magical, must do! With the plankton and jellyfish that light up. Beautiful! Big highlight. - beautiful sunrises - took the boat to a snorkelspot where we saw nice fish (reef was not spectacular) - the snorkelingtour in the afternoon to the mangroves was great, beautiful colors. - water refill is for free - the big beds at the sea to relax and sun are great! - the beds in the dorm were good.

“calm place to relax”
nice, small Spot out of the Track and Good to relax. their are beds at the sea and hammocks- Staff is Lovely and also lives there (only Spanish). vegeterian food was no problem. I also recommend to do snorkeling and Plankton. bring enough cash - as no card payment is possible. as the description says you are „stuck“ there as it‘s only accessible via the boat. be aware and bring something to read. the dorm is simple but ok, you sleep with open windows, with the breeze of the sea. two Staff member, one is the owner, also sleep there and a dog as well ;)
