“Authentic Moroccan charm”

The staff were so welcoming. A modest hotel with one of the best breakfasts we have had. The food was kept covered so no flies which is something the larger hotels could learn from. They also offered alcohol so I enjoyed a glass of wine. Secure parking and an authentic charm.

It feels like a museum, but in a good sense. Its beautifully decorated and shows a lot of history of the place. On top of this — nice atmosphere, nice people, and a parking.

I travelled solo with my 6-year-old and stayed 1 night at Hotel Tomboctou in Tinghir as a stopover on our way to the Merzouga desert. I was a bit disappointed with the hotel — I feel it is overpriced for Morocco and mainly geared towards tourists, and you can definitely find cheaper and more authentic options in Tinghir. Breakfast was a buffet, which felt less intimate. Our room on the ground floor was quite noisy, and the bathroom had a strange door/pipe feature that felt a bit odd. On the positive side, the location was convenient as we could walk to the bus station for our trip to Merzouga. If I were to return, I would probably choose somewhere near the Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley, or a nearby village instead.

Underground, secure, car park across the road for my motorcycle. On site restaurant was good. All staff were friendly. I liked it and would certainly stay again.

Really comfy beds, have AC units in the rooms. Great personal, they have underground parking. Breakfast options are also quit decent and delicious, if needed you can order dinner and food can be brought to the room. Really happy with the booking and do recommend!

Everything! The best hotel we stayed in Morocco. The parking is a secure underground car park opposite the hotel (10 meters away). The food was some of the best, cold beers in the restaurant, staff were the friendliest, they took card payment. The rooms were quiet, clean, super organised and every little detail considered. It was an absolute bargain as well. I think its German owned and run, and it really shows. The pool looked lovely, although we didn't use being January! And, you get to stay in a bona fide castle. Best hotel of a 2 week trip.and 9 different hotels

Lovely traditional Moroccan hotel, great value for money. With a lovely restaurant housed in the grounds in a Berber tent, just magical! Food was very good too! Highly recommend.

The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and in a great location. Breakfast is good, with a variety of dishes available. The shower has excellent water pressure, and the rooms are well-equipped with everything you need. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, so you can easily walk to restaurants and explore the souk in the evening.

“Great stay at Hotel Tomboctu”

We spent 3 nights here on our way back from Merzouga and before returning to Marrakech. A rustic and charming place. We really enjoyed staying at Hotel Tomboctu. It is in a great location and good for exploring the Todga and Dades gorges. It is full of African art which really sits well in the building. The food was fantastic, we ate there every night. The building is really interesting and worth reading about its history. We would definitely return.

Dinner was great, as was the pool and outside area. Our room was large and the staff were friendly. Good off-street secure parking for cars.

It was very easy to find, parking was very helpful. The staff were great, very helpful. Dinner was lovely, we really enjoyed it - especially the date cakes. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The palmerie is beautiful and well worth a visit!
