Views of Lake Arenal were exceptional. Beautiful tropical gardens surrounding the property filled with an amazing variety of birds and wildlife. Sergio, Our host went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay possible. I highly recommend and we will definitely visit again.

A real gem of a place. Lovely location with great views. Right next to a massive 600 year old ciba tree that looks like its from avatar. The host was great and the breakfast very nice. Highly recommend.

“Great”

The Ceiba Tree Lodge was fabulous. The room had a great view of Lake Arenal. Sunset was wonderful. The owner, Sergio, was incredibly friendly, provided lots of information about the local flora and fauna, and the breakfast was sensational. Hummingbirds even came to our table.

Sergio is a very friendly host, and assisting with suggestions for excursions The breakfast and dinner menu was tasty. Fantastic environment with flora and fauna, lots of birds, we heard the howler monkeys.

“Tranquility, sunsets, Wildlife.”

Ceiba Lodge is a special place, tranquility, peacefulness, simplicity. The setting is beautiful overlooking the lake and you can watch birds in the gardens and the old 600 year old Ceiba tree all day long. Sergio attends to your every need and question. He is very knowledgeable of the area and makes a wicked breakfast. Coffee is brewed right at your table the old fashioned way, delicious! If you value wildlife and tranquility this is a wonderful place to get to.

Beautiful gardens. Abundance and variety of birds to see from balcony. Fantastic breakfast, best coffee I’ve had anywhere in Costa Rica. Owner Sergio let me play his lovely guitar which after several weeks of travelling made my day!

The dinner was excellent after we had to ask to have meals. The view was lovely and breakfast good. The owner was friendly and views lovely

Staying at the Lodge felt like a full immersion in the forest. High above the lake, the room's patio had an amazing view over part of the Lake and close to a ancient (500 years) tree. Our host was extremely kind and helpful, and this experience was certainly an highlight of our trip.

Stunning view from terrace to western end of Lake Arenal and intersting birdlife in garden and surrounds. Peaceful and super friendly host. Accommodation simpke, clean and comfortable. Hammock on terrace cool. Good breakfast with great coffee (and friendly cat!)

“Spectacular”

The property is located in an amazing setting overlooking the lake with spectacular views. The gardens are stunning with an array of wildlife and a never ending chorus of insects, birds and monkeys. Sergio is the best host. He has extensive knowledge about the country. The breakfasts are amazing, best coffee and the bananas from his garden are to die for

“Incredible place to stay !”

Everything ! The view is just incredible and the quietness is golden ! Sergio is a really lovely host who’s really looking after his guests making sure that they have everything they need. It was the best place I’ve been to during my trip to Costa Rica. There was a little issue with the shower of the bedroom but Sergio was super nice and proactive to provide a solution. I was also lucky to benefit from an upgrade and stay for the same price in the most beautiful room with a view on the ceiba! Well in a nutschell is was amazing !

Location in a rainforest surrounded by wildlife is a beautiful experience. Staff are amazingly friendly and really help share the wildlife. Breakfast had good options.

The little hotel is close to the lake and you have a beautiful view on the water. The host Sergio is super nice and helpful. He gave us good advice for our trip. The breakfast in the restaurant of the hotel was very good. We got an upgrade to a comfort room which was great. We would recommend the comfort room. Thank you very much.

Incredible location, beautiful views of the lake and the famous giant Ceiba tree (on land owned by a neighbour; there is a charge to visit the base of the tree). Sergio was a very thoughtful host and served a delicious breakfast. Room was spacious and cool, with the ceiling fan (no A/C) being more than adequate. A very tranquil and special place worth seeking out.
