The location to visit D day beaches was great. Very spacious with nice size bedroms

“A lovely place to stay for a week with a large family party, great jumping off point”

This is a very big house - deceptively so! We had a lot of people staying, and everybody fitted in! It is extremely well located (by car) for the D-Day beaches and the other delights and sights of Normandy. I took an early morning walk through the village and across the bridge to pick up a load of croissants and pains au chocolat for the whole extended family. Then we jumped into three cars and zoomed around the countryside, to Mont St Michel, the beach, the Bayeux Tapestry, the Bayeux theme park, and the D-Day museums (every village seems to have one!). We did self-catering mainly by going to the local Carrefour supermarket (about 7 minutes by car).

We stayed at Les Buissonnets during early springtime and found it to be warm, comfortable and welcoming; indeed, it is one of those rare places in which one feels immediately at home. It is comprehensively equipped in all areas; the kitchen is spacious enabling the easy preparation of delicious meals, and the bathrooms are modern, providing copious hot showers after a long day's sightseeing. The bedrooms are of generous proportions, furnished with super-comfy beds, quiet and guaranteeing a good night's sleep. We spent several lovely evenings seated before a cheery log fire, and it was genuinely a wrench when we had to set the SatNav for Blighty. The surrounding area offers much to do; as well as the obvious military historical locations, Bayeux is close by, and a trip along the Normandy coast taking in Honfleur, Trouville and Deauville is not to be missed. There are two fine boulangeries in Cruelly as well as an admirable restaurant at the Hotel St Martin.
