“Beautiful location with a warm welcome”
What a wonderful family run hotel. It is in a beautiful quiet location, with only the bird sounds to disturb you. Our room was extremely spacious and had everything we needed. The dinner and breakfast provided by the hotel was delicious. The staff were extremely helpful, especially when we found ourselves with a flat tyre on our hire car. They even offered to drive us into Husavik so we didn't miss our whale watching tour. We didn't have time to use the outdoor hot tubs but they looked very inviting with stunning views out towards the snow capped mountains. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

“Friendly and scenic”
Really friendly staff - they even gave us some tasty Icelandic chocolate on check out! Big comfortable room with lovely scenic views. Food in the restaurant was very tasty (especially the fish). We got to see the northern lights from here and they did come to our room to let us know that they could be seen (we had thought it would be too cloudy) which we really appreciated - thank you!

“Fantastic family-run hotel close to Húsavík.”
We loved our stay at Hotel Raudaskrida! The room was spacious and homey, the bathroom was very clean and the owners are super friendly. We only stayed 1 night on our way through Húsavík but wish we could have stayed longer. Even managed to catch the northern lights in the sky above, which they offered to let us know if it became visible. Highly recommend!

It was a pleasure to stay there. Obviously, the hotel is a family run business and it shows in every single detail. From the very friendly welcome to the possibilty to stay in the main building for the evening where there is a large offering of books to read and family games to play as well as the cute cat - we loved everything. We were offered freshly home made cookies and other snacks for free. The breakfast was gorgeous: it left no desires unfullfilled : vegetables, fruits, home-made bread, marmelade as well as cake & cookies. We were sad to only stay for one night and would definitely return!

“Very cozy and friendly place”
Hotel owners were very friendly. The place was nice and cozy. We loved the receptionist cat. We were needed an early breakfast and the hotel stuff made it possible.

“Wonderful stay would definitely stay there again.”
The location is amazing for wildlife watching and fishing. Staff very helpful for where to go for both activities. Convenient for Húsavík whale watching. Absolutely loved staying there and didn’t want to leave! The room was very spacious and clean with a great view over the valley.
