Apartments were cozy, clean and equipped with everything needed. Personnel were cleaning-up and changing the towels every day. Manager Ali was great, helpful with arranging everything we needed. Fruit plates and fresh juices for breakfast were amazing.

Great apartment in an excellent location. Free bicycles were available, which was a big plus, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean every day, with coffee and water always available. Breakfasts were good and well organized. Excellent value for the price. Recommended!

The room was spacious and comfortable. There were free bicycles available to get around the island.

Very delicious breakfast with mahuni and roshi and fresh juices and fruits. A nice private balcony was there too.

I had a very pleasant stay in the Sunset Rise, The manager (Ali) was a nice person, very attentive about what I may need. The room was very clean, nice breakfast, and they provide bicycles if you want to move around the island easily. I would reccomend this accomodation.

My stay at Sunrise Inn Thoddoo was truly amazing! From the moment I arrived, I felt so welcomed by the manager and staff they were kind, friendly, and always ready to help with anything. The best part is that they offer a free transfer from the airport to Thoddoo Island if you contact the manager in advance, which made my travel smooth and worry-free. The guesthouse is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and very comfortable. I loved the calm atmosphere and the tropical garden around the property. They also provide free bicycles, which made exploring the island fun and easy. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. you can choose between Maldivian or continental options, both are great! What really makes Sunrise Inn special is the personal care from the team they treat you like family, not just a guest. I highly recommend Sunrise Inn Thoddoo to anyone visiting the Maldives. “Perfect place to stay”

I had a great stay at Sunrise Inn on Thoddoo Island. The owner, Ali, was very kind and helpful — he even let me use his scooter to explore the island. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The guesthouse is close to the port and a bit farther from the mosque, so it’s quiet and peaceful, which might be important for some travelers. Ali speaks excellent English and answered all my questions about the Maldives. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay at Ali’s BNB. The host was extremely kind, helpful, and always ready to assist us with anything we needed. The food was delicious — we had both breakfast and dinner there, and everything was freshly prepared and full of flavor. On the day we had to leave early, they even packed a takeaway breakfast for us, which was very thoughtful. The room was clean and spacious, towels were changed daily, and there was also daily cleaning. Beach towels were provided as well. We could also use bicycles, snorkeling masks, and fins free of charge — a really nice bonus! Overall, it was a perfect stay with great service and warm hospitality.

I had a wonderful stay at Sunrise In Guest House in Thoddoo. The overall experience was very positive, and I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in the Maldives. The guest house was clean and well-maintained, with everything organized and neat. The area around the guest house is also very clean and quiet, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy island life. We appreciated the equipment - masks and fins, because not every guesthouse has them prepared like that. We liked the good organization of breakfasts in the garden. Crazy country. You are not able to pay for hotel in official curency MVR. The rate of exchange is 15 to USD but these wont 19. I think ilegal

“Most bizarre "customer service"”

We have been travelling a lot and have never witnessed this bizarre customer service giving their guests a genuine feeling of mistrust and not being welcome. To be fair the location and rooms were OK. The breakfast was eatable, no more no less. The mango juice was good. They have free laundry service which works fine. Free snorkling equipment, which is in bad condition. This is as expected when it is free of charge. There was one young man at the place working hard and doing his very best despite the language barrier. He even smiled, which was rare amongst the rest of the staff. Despite this we can't give the place a better rating than 3 out of 10 and we don't understand the current rating this place has. When we arrived at Sunrise Inn the owner had overbooked so we had to stay in another room across the street untill the next day. This despite having booked the room several months in advance. We did not get any prior notice about this. Neither did we get an apology for the trouble. When we contacted the owner about this he did not seem to understand the trouble. To us it was disturbing as we arrived with two children and could not unpack and settle in the first day as we had to move the day after. There is pages hanging around with what you will be charged if you don't behave as they want you to (see attached picture). The daily staff could not answer basic questions, like bike rental and excursions. Everything had to go through the owner who was not present at the place so he had to be contacted through WhatsApp and then you had to go back to the staff again afterwards. We rented bikes, which used to be free but now costs 10$ per day. They gave us "discount" so we paid 5$ per day per person. There is a few good bikes, but the majority of the bikes are in very bad condtition, almost falling apart. Brakes not working, missing pedal, lose handlebars, rusty etc. etc.

“My sincere suggestion”

The manager/owner was really friendly and was solving problems fast! The breakfast was amazing and stuff of the hotel was always friendly and could speak good English! We were impressed by our comfortable stay, it exceeded our expectations!

Wonderful hotel, very helpful owner - Ali, will help with all questions, charming family hotel, I recommend!
