“Comfortable, well-appointed, serene stay in the heart of the Harz”
The flat was very clean and well-appointed, with all of the implements we needed to cook and enjoy a great meal at home. There is a big, green backyard with an outside seating area, as well as plenty of space to dine inside. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious and comfortable. The location is wonderful: the house is located at the foot of the mountain near a river (perfect for walking/hiking), across the street from a bowling alley, and only a few minutes walk from a family fun park and the cable cars to the mountain peak. Despite all of the amenities nearby, the house and yard were quiet and private. The train station is about 10mins away walking, and the nearest grocery store was approximately 20mins walk (but there were some restaurants and butchers/bakers even closer). The host was very responsive and forgiving of my poor German speaking. We were scheduled to arrive early, and were permitted to drop our bags off while we explored the city. We were expecting someone to be there when we arrived, but a quick call to the host and we were able to find the key and let ourselves in.
