Overview
A 3-minute walk from Kawayu JR Train Station, Hotel Parkway features a hot spring baths, karaoke. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby, and a launderette is on-site. It’s only a 5-minute drive from the sulphur mines. Guests at Parkway Hotel can unwind in a mixed-gender public hot spring bath, or a public hot spring bath that’s separate per gender. They can sing karaoke in a train cabin and you can enjoy a walk around the hotel surrounded by nature.Other facilities include drinks vending machines and free parking. Rooms feature a tranquil Japanese-style interior with a tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and an LCD TV. Guests sleep in traditional futon bedding, and toilets and bathing facilities are shared. Japanese meals are served at dining pavilion Fumoto-Tei, and feature tilapia fish that’s farmed on the property. Hotel Parkway is a 10-minute drive from Lake Kussharo.

“A wonderful stay with a relaxing onsen, delicious breakfast, and very kind staff.”
We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the onsen was incredibly relaxing. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and generous, and the location was perfect for exploring the Lake Kushiro area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Onsens were both indoors and outdoors. The rooms were spacious and were clean. Fresh towels and bathrobes were replenished everyday.

“Eastern Hokkaido Gem”
The rooms,bathrooms and onsen are very simple,but charming. It's a quiet hotel with very friendly staff. The food was outstanding. Traditional Japanese breakfast and for dinner sashimi, hot pot,which had changing ingredients, served with other little delicious kinds of food like tempura or fish and pickles. It was also a lot,so we never left the table hungry. The area is quiet and nice for skitouring. We mostly had the onsen to ourselves in the afternoon. The massage chair in the entrance hall costs 100yen for 15 minutes,which ia great. They also have two washing machines and a dryer for a really reasonable price. It's a little gem,that we will surely come back to.

“Group of friends in Hokkaido”
Owner is very kind and can see her working from morning till night. We booked rooms with half board. Good food. Room clean and daily change towels was a Bonus. Indoor onsen with 2 outdoor onsens.

A good value for your money. It is a simple ryokan with dinner and breakfast provided. It has both indoor and outdoor onsens. The food and onsens are decently good. No complaints 😊

“Excellent value and location.”
This hotel is great value. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. There are washing machines to use (cold water only). I recommend visiting the outdoor bath (rotemburo) after dark, because you feel like you are in a magical spot in a wood. However, during the day you can see that is not quite the case... My little girls appreciated that they could go in the onsen with their dad (usually they are segregated), because the outdoor one is mixed and there was no one else there. This hotel feels a little like a cross between staying in a hotel and staying in someone's house (in a good way). The location is brilliant - the geyers of Mount Io are a few minutes' drive away. This was a fantastic experience for our daughter who is studying volcanoes at school. I recommend doing the walk around the Wakoto peninsula a short drive away (lake Kussharo). It is a beautiful walk through woods, and we saw a woodpecker, foxes, frogs, and other animals. The foot bath at Ikeno-yu is also a fun thing to do. Be sure to eat at Teshikaga Ramen. Absolutely amazing ramen!

No shower facility in the room. Breakfast is quite basic. Mattress quite thin and brick like pillow is hard and small.
