Excellent French cuisine for evening meal with wine. In particular venison steak was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was good too with regular coffee refills. Comfortable bed and armthe chairs in room.

Cute guesthouse in the forest run by a super nice couple. We highly recommend booking breakfast and dinner and can especially point out that they were able to cook very good vegetarian food. The guesthouse was close to fantastic hiking trails. There were two private onsens, which were simple but very nice.

Such a lovely place with superkind owners! They made a fantastic dinner and breakfast with local products. The rooms are spacious and clean. The onsen is the highlight, where you can sit outside underneath the stars or between the butterflies. We enjoyed our stay so much!

“A bit more pricey but worth it”

Might have been above our budget but it was really pretty. You will also see a lot of the nature from inside, since there are fodder spots everywhere around for the birds and other animals. Really comfortable inside. While you have a car, you can also really reach some nice views within a short time. There are 2 Onsens, you can take one for yourself to take a shower. I HIGHLY recommend taking the breakfast & lunch option, because there isn't much around, and you'll be served what feels like a 5 course meal. Great food here.

It feels like the lodge was in a fairytale world. Birds, squirrels, deers and so on in the neighborhood. The host and hostess are so kind, they offered pickup service at Biwaru station and helped guide my second travel. I also played with their dog a lot after dinner. Onsen was great even though I'm not good at taking onsen. Homemade foods were really tasty as well. Also, they offered a morning snowshoe tour, it was so awesome!

Love the hospitality of the owners, food was delicious, nice beautiful and homely environment, 24 hour access to the onsen, room was big!

A great little family onsen in the middle of the forest. Excellent and hearty welcome. Great breakfast, and common areas very cosy. Onsen facilities on the small side but excellent water. Great location to explore the national park if access to a car.

“A Wonderful, Restful and Peaceful Place to Stay”

This lovely place is in a forest-like environment and you will need the GPS to find it. It's beautiful and quiet with trees all around and the hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. Dinner and breakfasts are available at extra costs. We arrived late so only had breakfast which was substantial and delicious. There is a choice of a Western or Japanese breakfast. The room was large, super clean, and the beds were very comfortable. In the room is a toilet and a wash-handbasin area. The showers/onsen is downstairs. The onsen was very clean and wonderfully hot. There is a lounge and dining room downstairs. It was very nice to chat with other guests and the owners.

“Friendly pension in the middle of nature”

Very peaceful location in the forest with lots of birds and squirrels visiting, convenient to visit the nearby lakes. The owners were very friendly and the food absolutely excellent. The room was clean and the common area was very pleasant.

Absolutely lovely hosts who are willing to help you with anything. They were a tremendous help to us when my partner hurt is ankle pretty badly. I honestly couldn’t wish for more loving and caring hosts. The meals were delicious! The accomodation itself was very clean, spacious and cute. Lots of squirrels and birds outside during breakfast! I have absolutely no complaints.
