A very special place. Very welcoming host and his family made us feel very welcome. Great food, both breakfast and diner. Beautiful location with great hiking opportunities and the host can provide useful advice about the region. The host also owns a nice apartment in the center of Samarkand where we stayed for one night. The road up to the guesthouse is quite difficult, but doable with a decent car. Otherwise it is a short walk to the paved road.

We loved absolutely everything. The owner Ilkhom and is family are incredibly nice and welcoming. We really felt at home. There are very nice hikes available from the guest house.

The food was amazing, maybe the best we had in Uzbekistan. The garden was a really nice place to relax. The whole family was very welcoming and helpful. Our host recommended a few hikes in the neighbouring mountains but it is also really easy to find some paths to follow on your own.

Just a fabulous place. Lovely host family, perfect scenic surroundings, delicious food. Exactly what I was hoping to find for a low-key base for remote work and hiking. Ilhom is the perfect host - couldn't ask for more. Looking forward to returning in the future - Rakhmat :))

The family was warm and welcoming, and they were happy to share their stories. Ilxom is a thoughtful and wise person who is always eager to learn new things. I also enjoyed the story that his son shared with me. I decided to stay here after reading an article by another traveler last year. Although my experience was a bit different from what she described, I still had the chance to exploring around but on my own. It is very enjoyable on sunny days. I would recommend staying for about two days, especially as a relaxing break from visiting historical sites in Uzbekistan. I really enjoyed the moments chatting with them and simply observing daily life :) The scenery was beautiful, but there may NOT be many activities on rainy days. I was lucky to stay for three days and two nights and experience completely different kinds of weather. Although it was not mentioned clearly, there are additional fees for each meal. I had been informed and did enough research before arrival, so I knew, but this might be confusing for other travelers. The meals were quite tasty! It worths.

“Experiencing the Authentic Local Side”

I had a wonderful experience. Ilkhom and his family were incredibly welcoming and kind, and we enjoyed the delicious food they prepared. The guesthouse is surrounded by beautiful mountains, and we loved hiking in the area. I couldn’t reach the very top because I accidentally took the wrong path, but the trail was amazing nonetheless. I also saw many sheep, donkeys, cows, and horses along the way. When I close my eyes, the scenery comes back to life.

“Comfortable weekend getaway”

While this family-run guesthouse in the mountains near Samarkand is hardly a resort –dad spent the night sleeping in the hallway on a mat—you will be treated quite kindly and lavishly during your stay with the best the family has to offer. There are only a few rooms here, so even when completely booked there will be you, two other guests, and whichever family members happen to be staying there at the time. Basically, there’s not a lot to do apart from hiking the nearby mountains, lazing about under the fruit trees, and eating. Food is wholesome and homemade; accommodations can be made for vegetarians. Great place to spend a relaxing weekend in the Uzbekistan countryside.

This was one of the best and most interesting trips I have ever had. The host Ilxom was extremely helpful. The guesthouse is located on the outskirts of a small village, and I got a good impression of everyday life in this part of the country. The host helped me all the time, explained and gave information, showed me around the village, took me to friends and acquaintances. Even though I don't speak the local language, I got a good impression of life there. The other people in the family where I stayed were also helpful and nice. I got a very good impression, and we had many interesting conversations about cultural differences between their everyday life and mine. The host family was around all the time and I felt so well looked after. I had great mountain walks, went on trips with the host, visited farmers, watched cattle being brought down from the mountain, visited the school and greeted many friends and acquaintances of the host. I would love to come back here.

This guest house is a true gem in the mountains near Samarkand. The setting is stunning—peaceful, beautiful, and a perfect escape from the city. The lovely host family made us feel right at home, and the homemade dinner and breakfast were absolutely superb. Our host speaks great English and shared fascinating stories about the area and life in Uzbekistan through different eras. He even arranged a ride back to the city for us and is happy to pick guests up from Samarkand as well, making the journey easy. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, authentic experience with warm hospitality.

“Relaxt!”

Amazing garden, great food and lovely family!

We really enjoyed the freshness of our break in Tersak, where we spent two days after the 3 silk towns. We shared Ilshom's family home, which brings together 3 generations and guests (a Russian couple exiled in Uzbekistan and their baby...). Ilshom supervises with a master's hand, but we also appreciated the little hands, his wife and daughter-in-law, who cooked us wonderful meals with all the Uzbek specialities, and a magnificent smile. We went hiking in the mountains, which wasn't easy as there were no signposted trails. And we took advantage of the spring water pool, which was great when the water was off. Similarly, the place is so welcoming that the electricity cuts in the evening are not a problem. In any case, without wifi, it's real relaxation! Ilshom was our taximan (for $40) and helped us find a shared taxi to Ferghana.

The welcome, the visit of the property and the dinner. Very very good. The host is very nice and is taking care of you.

Cherry-trees in fruit, homemade milk and yoghurt, our host was very proud of his village and property, and gave us a tour of his extended garden, showing us medicinal herbs.

Very nice family who welcomed us for 3 days in their day-to-day life! We learnt a lot about the area, history and so on talking with Ilhom. The mountains are beautiful, last but not least the food was excellent!
