“Warm staff, cool pool.”
The staff are all very warm, welcoming and helpful. The pool was such a treat, too. The place and our room were very clean. They topped off our water container everyday which was very convenient.

We had a great stay. The room was big, comfortable and clean and the pool nice when it got hot. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was tasty. Easy walk to the centre of town but nestled away enough to feel very peaceful.

“We had a lovely stay at the hotel. It appears more 'upmarket' in the photographs than it really is.”
Breakfast was excellent. Bed was comfortable. Room was big. Staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. Yoga class on weekend. Easy walk into town.

“A gem in the heart of Tepozlan”
Hotel Teocalli is a gem in the heart of Tepozlan. Beautiful setting with a small garden and a pool for an afternoon chill. The rooms are very nice and clean with beautiful view on the mountain. The hotel staff are the nicest we have ever met, and the hotel manager don Marco was always present to make sure we have everything we need. This place was so magical. They also have massage, yoga and Temazcal service which I highly recommend.

“Charming but overpriced, some issues with basic amenities”
The hotel is very well located, just a few blocks from el centro (requires walking up a fairly steep hill, but you get used to that in Tepoztlan!), so it's easy to walk to shops and cafes. There's a nice view of the mountains and lovely trees around the property. It also feels quite safe, with a locked gate at the front. Definitely one of the best parts were the friendly, helpful staff. Marco (the owner I believe?) was very kind and assisted with a number of requests I had during my stay, he's very pleasant and makes you feel at home. I also enjoyed chatting with the ladies serving breakfast. There are a variety of different rooms located around the garden setting, though if you want a balcony you need to choose the deluxe master suite (it was misleading that the listing for the regular master suite says it has a patio, because it does not--only the shared terrace around the pool and kitchen). The cleaning service is excellent. It's fairly quiet at night except for random dogs barking, and depending where in the hotel your room is located you might hear some street noise or music on the weekend.
