Overview
Located in the upper Amazon basin on the shore of the Napo River in Tena, this lodge offers private rooms and shared dormitories to offer. All with unique views of forest or river. The cosy wooden bungalows are designed according to traditional architecture.The natural lighting with oil lamps and typical Amazon torches to keep the essence of the Amazon environment. The private balconies include either chairs or a hammock. Selina Amazon Tena, features a lounge with a fireplace. “Miles over our expectations.”
There is no better place to stay than here. When we arrived in Tena, we realized one of our phones were left on the bus with no way to track it. We were later contacted by someone who demanded ransom. The owners of the hotel took almost 2 days of their time to help us get it back, driving around town to track it down and confronting the thieves. Thanks to them we can continue our trip. On top of this, we got a free upgrade to a bigger room. The lodge is a paradise with amazing nature, clean pool and warm jacuzzi, great food in the restaurant and amazing day-trips arranged by the hotel. A true wow-experience during the whole stay. The rooms are exactly how you want them in the Amazon. Do not miss this place! Easy to get there and back. Regular bus traffic right outside the facilities.

“Not recommended”
The cabin overlooking the river was great, and one or two of the staff were quite friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the pool is great.

The lodge is really beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and as they appear in the photographs. The swimming pool area was also really nice but we did not get the chance to use the pool as only stayed for one night. Breakfast was also good and plentiful.

“Beautiful lodge outside of Tena”
The lodge itself was lovely. The pool area was great and there were some other shared spaces like the library which were very beautiful and peaceful places to hang out. I could have definitely stayed longer. Food was fairly good too and prices were reasonable.

“Nice lodge, helpful stuff but inconsistent management”
Nice pool, half of the lodge is beautifully in the rain forest. Really good food (but very expensive and only in the evening- remember there is no shop close). The 2 hour hike from the hostel was amazing and in fact 5 hours long. Judy was really helpful as a stuff member!
