A little jewel box fsr from everything in the mountains surrounded by tea fields. Eric organized everything for us. The food was great, everything was perfect. The road up is tricky, but manageable with a tuktuk or a motorbike.

It’s a nice silent place with a beautiful view. The caretakers were very kind and made delicious food for us. There was a very sweet dog named Rocky who was always around and even accompanied us on a hike.

Solitary Cottage is a truly magical place, completely secluded in the mountains. You have your own private hut with a small bathroom and kitchenette, surrounded by nature and total peace. The view is beautiful (even though it was a bit cloudy during our stay), and the area is perfect for great hiking and enjoying real solitude. A few things could use an update, such as the fridge and some kitchen utensils, but cleanliness was absolutely fine for a remote mountain cottage. The food was excellent – lovingly prepared local dishes and brought directly to the cottage. Not very spicy (perfect for European tastes) but super tasty. The communication with the host was very friendly, easy, and helpful throughout our stay. A very special place for anyone looking to relax and disconnect. Highly recommended.

This place was just amazing, best part of our Sri Lankan road trip! It’s situated high up in the mountains with beautiful views and no people around. It’s so peaceful. I wish we could stay for weeks. The cottage is so comfy and well equipped. Erik, the owner, is great. He speaks really good English, always replies right away and organises anything you need. We had an old car and had hard times driving in the mountains so he organised parking spot for as and tuk to take us to the cottage. He also organised great guides to take us to Knuckles five peak trek. There is a dog Rocky who is super cute and friendly, making sure you’re safe during your stay. I highly recommend to order rice and curry too, it was so delicious!

This was the best staying we have had in two months in Sri Lanka. The house is the perfect size for a couple, everything worked very well and the views were breathtaking. The dog that was living in the garden was super cute. We were so happy with the way Eric was always available for any inquiries we had. Specially recommended the food, we order dinner and it was such a privilege to be able to have a wonderful dinner in the terrace.

This is a place you should visit. So quiet, peaceful, you are lost in the mountains with a stunning view and just a minute away from a nice walk in the tea plantation. Even though you are a bit lost you have everything you need. Food is delicious. Highly recommend you to visit this place for an authentic experience. Also you might be guided by a very cute and incredible dog named Rocky who will take care of you. One of our best experience in Sri Lanka as regard to enjoy the nature and food.

I had an absolutely amazing experience here. The owner helped me on my way to Teldeniya from there I took a Tuktuk up in the hills. Solitary Cottage offers all you need: a quiet natural experience, birds and the sound of the wind. I managed to do some good hiking around without the need of a guide. The bungalow is well equipped and offers and fully equipped kitchen! Wifi works great. Make sure you order your food through the accommodation, it was close to the best authentic Sri Lankan food I ever tasted during my travels in Sri Lanka. I would definitely recommend this gorgeous place

Amazing place to go for peace and quiet. Very nice cottage with a view and a lovely dog. The food was exceptional, probably the best food I had in sri lanka brought by a nice family who live nearby.

The name Solitary Cottage is an ideal name for someone or for people who would like to be detached from the city and get isolated and reconnect with nature. First of all need to tell you that the road to the property is narrow and recommended to travel by bike or a hatchback or sedan. But after all that challenging roads, here comes the best view with a small property. Actually it's a one bedroom house type property equipped with furniture, beds, fridge, WiFi and all the other kitchen items. Highly recommended for couples, solo travellers, bloggers and writers. The location has good mobile signals even if it's located on a hill. There is a beautiful swing surrounded with beautiful little flowers that attracts most. You can bring your own food and prepare as of your own or you can request the owner of the property to get it done and the food was cooked by local small family. But I rather recommend someone to get Ur food here and prepare by yourself. There is one cute dog 🐶 who's name is Rocky and he's the guardian of the property and well adopted one. Don't forget to share your meals with him . He will direct you through the roads you came by during your checkout. The view is amazing and the climate is cold. Can experience beautiful sunrise with mist over mountains. The safety is 100% and the property is equipped with cameras. There are places you can enjoy watching around the property with the owner's advise. Really good place to chill in a relax mode if someone wants to spend his/her days on a hill alone. 🥰
