This was a unique experience. We received a very warm welcome from Larbi with tea and as a highlight an interesting tour around the berbertown. He tries to introduce tourism in his town and create work for several people. Larbi is very friendly and willing to help with all kinds of questions. The auberge has a great view over the town. The 25 km road to the town is a very doable asphalt road, only the last kilometer to the auberge is off road but we managed fine with our normal car. Great dinner!! Our teens got their own room without extra charge. Good place to get de-stressed and accept life as it comes.

It felt like you were experiencing how the Berbers really live in the atlas. It was so quiet and peaceful. Loved everything about it!

The property is in a great location, not too touristic and trying to show a different side of morocco. Larbi was a great host and recommended an amazing route to arrive to Tazzarine. It was a beautiful sta and experience!

This is the most authentic Moroccan riad we have been to. The backdrop of the mountains and the small village with a river running through it made for an unforgettable experience.

It is mysterious place. Its far away from everything i am used to. Its very asqetic village. Its perfect place for those who are looking historical, rural place. There are still everything you need. Host is very friendly and helpful. He met us at the village entrance. Next morning we had "walk on the park" halfway to Mountain. I liked the stay very much.

“An unforgettable off-the-beaten-path experience”

Hidden gem in Haut Atlas Oriental National Park, truly off the beaten path. Located in a remote Berber village, everything here feels authentic — no scams, no tourist traps. It is the only hotel in the area, with just a handful of visitors. We stayed for two nights. During the day, we took a walk around the village with one of the hotel employees, who actually lives there (for an extra fee). We learned how local people live and discovered what a beautiful piece of land this is. Don’t expect anything luxurious. Lunch, dinner, and drinking water can be provided upon request, as there are no shops or restaurants nearby. The rooms are simple, with a bed, TV and a wood-burning stove, which is necessary in winter and bathroom. Hot water is available upon request. I highly recommend not missing this place for an unforgettable experience.

The stay here was amazing. One of our best experiences ever. Larbi, Hassan and the rest of the staff were fantastic. Food is amazing. Lovely setting. Trips arranged to hike to the mountains and the gorge, and to the caves, taking in true Berber culture. This unforgettable experience is a must when visiting Morocco. Impeccable hospitality and we can’t wait to return.

Visited in April to break up our drive from Fez to Merzouga and it ended up being a highlight of our Morocco trip! The owner was very hospitable and welcoming, with a homely feeling to the place, the food was outstanding (must try Calya). 100% recommend allocating a morning to do the walk to the caves! Was a breathtaking and memorable experience. If we’re ever in Morocco again we’ll be back!!
