The view

We were travelling with a group of 7 friends. Arrived in Taxco pretty late in the evening and booked randomly the hotel rooms for us before having dinner. So really didn't check much, just that all of us fit, and when we came to the hotel, we were pleasently surprised. The rooms we got were nice in size for us, and the location is just perfect - very easy to get to town center, and silver market is just around the corner. We initially thought to eat breakfast in town, but glad that did not go. The breakfast you can order in a menu, and they prepare homemade style food! So the eggs we chose were superb. We spent only one night since short trip, so we just went to check out the terrace. And I think that would be nice to hang out up there with the view to the town.

This homey establishment is more than a hotel. It's like being welcomed into someone's home with unique, quirky decor and personalized attention. The rooftop terrace is a chill place to watch the sunset and the owner is an excellent cook. I highly recommend taking meals there. It's a great place to relax.

We had a really lovely stay, and I will definitely stay here again when I return. Breakfast was fresh fruit and good coffee. We asked if they could prepare us dinner on the rooftop deck one evening and they made us such a nice meal with good wine:) The view from the roof deck is the best in the city. Efren is a great host and communication with him was super quick and easy. For sure stay here!

The place is a charming simple building with a nice restaurant or común area. There are different offers you can enjoy. As everything in Taxco you have to go up and down to arrive at the hotel from the center.

The host was amazing and the rooftop has an incredible view. Breakfast was basic but nice, bed was pretty comfortable, hotel is quirky but nice.

We arrived at Posada Antigua extremely tired after an early start from Cholula, where we'd slept badly for a few nights (due to the noisy hotel) Efren greeted us warmly, recognised l was tired and emotional and asked if he could give me a head and shoulder massage. He offered us a better room than l'd originally booked for a small price increase. Our 4 days there were extremely enjoyable in every way, all the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooftop terrace is perfect for evening relaxation and conversation and company of the other guests. On our last day l had the 90 minute therapeutic massage with Efren, it was wonderful. I can see if anyone wants luxury accommodation this may not be the right place, but it was perfect and memorable for us. A real insight into the real Mexico. Thank You

Everything was excellent - particularly the attention received from the staff who were always very pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

“Quirky boutique hotel, fabulous staff and incredible views!”

A little gem hidden away in an alley in Taxco but only minutes walk from the town center. Our room was located on the rooftop so we had total access to the incredible terrace views. Loved having breakfast and sundowners while soaking in the views. The staff were friendly and attentive. Effrin, our host spoke excellent English and gave us many great tips of what to see and how to get around the city during our stay. One of the highlights was the Temazcal spa treatment he recommended (and performed) that our whole family partook in. I highly recommend this traditional Pre Hispanic spa experience to learn more about the culture. We would love to come back to stay at Hotel Posada!
