“Don't risk this place! Overpowering sewage smell.”
After a full day on the road, we unpacked the car and stepped into a room that - I thought - smelled strongly of "bleach"? Left the room to find dinner, arrived back to discover that the overpowering stench was sewage smell. The room was a biohazard! Knowing that breathing in these gases is dangerous, I called the non-contact Reception - no answer. I emailed the property. We risked staying but had a dreadful night. Itchy eyes, headache. At first light, we got out of there. I had a return email from the property the following day, telling me that the "plumber had been looking at it". I tried to explain that this is dangerous but the emails deteriorated from there on and I decided it wasn't worth trying to make sense of the situation. I requested a refund but that was refused.
