“A wonderful stay in a beautiful location with great hosts.”

The hosts were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was exceptional. We arrived in a thunderstorm but once it had cleared, the views were stunning - especially from the restaurant area.

A nice peaceful place with large clean rooms. The birds are really good. Frequent scarlet macaws also monkey. Close to a reserve and a good river tour. Also has a look out tower and amazing views. Recommended.

“Great for Bird watchers”

Great location, amazing wildlife. Please note, the accommodation is relatively basic, but still perfect. It's not a fancy hotel standard, but is not advertised as such. Staff were really nice. If you like wildlife and the outdoors I would definitely recommend it.. If you like sitting around in a hotel room then choose somewhere else.

Stunning location with amazing views and so many birds to see. Sunrise on the birding platform was beautiful, spotting many birds we hadn’t seen before. Monkeys in the trees next to the breakfast area were fun to watch. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Really nice feel about the place and would recommend to anyone for a stay. Food was good!

“Excellent choice for Tarcoles visit”

Great location for Tarcoles (we did an early am river bird tour so wanted to be nearby). As implied by the accomodation type and price, facilities are basic but the room and bathroom are modern, very spacious and clean. We enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds round the lodge. The lodge can offer an evening meal (local style veggies and choice of fish or meat) - useful as the property is a way off the main road. I'd recommend this lodge for Tarcoles.

“The best place we stayed in Costa Rica”

We loved everything about our stay. From the lovely couple who owned it who provided us with good food for just us on Christmas day evening. To the lovely large chalet room with an excellent bathroom and huge bed. To the plethora of fantasti,c animals who emerged from the forest to have breakfastand near us to the wonderful birds that surrounded us from morning until evening

Beautiful location and excellent food. Amazing spot for bird watching and sun sweet viewing! They have an observation tower for birding. I got to spend 45 mins with some wild scarletacaes feeding in the tree canopies.

Very friendly and helpful staff, great food in the restaurant. The cabin was large, modern and stylish. Huge, comfortable bed, good WiFi and efficient air con. We loved our stay here. Feeders to the side of the restaurant mean you can watch capuchin monkeys and coatis eat bananas while you have breakfast. Loads of birds in the grounds an an observation tower to top it off
