“The best place I stayed in Sri Lanka”

Beautiful place with a super friendly and helpful owner. I loved the pool, the breakfast options (the best I had in Sri Lanka!), and the modern, stylish room—especially the fancy shower with a large stone floor.

The hosts are lovely and they provided really good breakfast. The room was really clean and when we arrived at the property, the host had already put on the AC for us. Very service minded. They provided a big list with hotspots in and around Tangalle and also arranged a massage for us. Apart from this, the location is really good as well!

Interesting rooms with a shower which is a unique experience. Helpful, pleasant staff. Perfect breakfast, very good location, cute dogs. The manager was in touch via WA all the time givong us watm welcome and good tips. Large garden with a possibility to sit there. Nice small pool.

Absolute bliss. If I could rate Villa Don Bastian 11/10 I would! The whole place is beautifully decorated, the rooms are gorgeous, the bathroom was stunning (so original!) and the pool is lovely. The breakfasts are delicious (4 different options) and the location is perfect, just a 5 min walk to a beach where you can swim. The staff are so lovely and their dogs are super cute.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Don Bastian. We felt right at home thanks to the warm welcome from our host. The hosts Sanu and her husband created a very intimate and cozy atmosphere, and we were treated to a fantastic breakfast. Thanks to Nadee for her services too !

We loved everything about Villa Don Bastian. It is located a very short walk from the beach, on a chilled out street that has lots of great cafes. There is lots to do in the area and Sanu provides so much great travel advice. The villa is very peaceful, it’s clean and beautifully decorated. The garden and pool area were fantastic for relaxing. Breakfast was delicious. We wish we had longer to spend here.

We stayed here for Xmas and drove down in a Tuk Tuk. The location, pool, room, shower room!, bed, team, facilities, breakfast, everything is amazing. Beautiful villa with friendly hosts walking distance to beaches and places to visit in town. So peaceful compared to the hubbub of the city centre. The host accommodated our later check-out which was very kind. There is a fridge you can use as well as clothes washing facilities. There was parking for our Tuk Tuk in the driveway too. I cannot recommend the place enough

Super hosts, in a very tranquil home stay. Small pool, which was needed in the heat! Fabulous breakfasts, lovely room with super shower. Plenty of restaurants located very close to the property.

Lovely villa with lots of great additional touches like beach towels, kettle in the room, local recommendations etc. Friendly and responsive host (Sanu) and caretaker (Nadee). Breakfast was great everyday. Close to lots of amenities and nearby Hiriketiya which we really enjoyed. We loved the restaurants Raa and La Playa. We found it easy to get to and from nearby beaches.

“The best place to stay in Tangalle!”

This was definitely one of the best accommodations we have had in Sri Lanka. Sanu is a great, welcoming host and gave us a lot of great tips to explore Tangalle and the surrounding beaches. The room was nice, clean and spacious, with a comfortable outdoor shower. The pool area is great to relax and we enjoyed the breakfast. Would 100% recommend!

“Just wonderful”

Absolutely everything! It’s such a serene and calm place. The rooms are beautifully decorated with all the facilities you need. The staff is wonderful and so helpful. The breakfast is delicious. We were traveling with a small baby and they had everything prepared for us, even a gift for our daughter. We can’t recommend this place enough and we will definitely come back!

We cannot recommend more our stay in Villa Don Bastian. Our favourite place in Sri Lanka so far! The owners are lovely, very helpful and attentive with their recommendations; the Villa feels like new and the garden and the pool are beautiful. Plus they have very cute and friendly dogs! A must stay in Tangalle!

“Hospitality at it's finest!”

Villa Don Bastion is a truly special place to stay. Sanu and Dushan are so welcoming and accommodating, looking after all of their guests as if they were friends to stay at their home. Delicious breakfast, beautiful property and a great pool to hang out by. We were travelling with a 9 month old baby and it was the perfect spot to explore Tangalle from and also relax. Great setup with cot, baby chair and even food made by their team daily. A very special place, couldn't recommend highly enough!

“Amazing”

The place itself were amazingly clean well furnished and organized. Owner of the place and worker were quite nice to us. They had amazing breakfast which is the best I had in Sri Lanka. Before go there I of course read the previous comments and saw something about the dogs that they are bothering during the breakfast. I was a bit nervous about these comments since I am afraid of dogs unfortunately. However, it was not the case for us because we didn't see any dogs during breakfast. I think they care about the comments. Other than breakfast hours it was nice to see them around the place since they were really cute :) The location was perfect. They gave some advises about the foods, beaches and change office. Other than change office everywhere that they advised was good. About change office, the man there did not care about the reference and exchanged our money from at the low rate but we were need it. There were mosquitos and bugs of course as in every place in Sri Lanka. However, they try to help with mosquito repellent. Since we are in the middle of the jungle it is okay to have some bugs and mosquitos even it might bother us :D There is an amazing pool in the place but we did not want to use it. We preferred to have a coffee near it in the morning and spend our time in the ocean during the rest of the day.
