“Glorious Old World Charm on the South Coast”

Everything! It’s THE most amazing small hotel with its BAWA style architecture that makes it feel like old Sri Lanka. Fabulous pool overlooking the ocean, and all the staff went out of their way to make my stay memorable. Delicious Sri Lankan curries, and breakfasts second to none. Those coconut pancakes and Wattallapan, oh my word! All I can say is WOW. My wonderful waiter was such fun. He made everything light hearted and covered my table with flowers on my last night. Sara the manager too was so experienced and welcoming. Helped me with everything including a wonderful trip to see nesting turtles laying their eggs at night. Really a true gem

The view toward the ocean and the sound of the waves was soothing. The staff were cheerful and wanting to please. We enjoyed the variety of fresh breakfast offerings. Dinners were delicious with fresh seafood and both western and Sri Lankan cuisine. The hotel is modern design and blends beautifully into the surrounding gardens. Easy to get a tuk tuk to Tangalle.

The hotel is beautiful small only 7 rooms.A's a great place to relax. Very well run Sarah the manager went of his way to make my stay the best. The staff were lovely and fun. Food amazing fresh fish from the sea caught in the morning on the plate for supper. Gold star 🌟

“Relaxing stay by the beach”

Friendly and attentive staff, a lovely pool area by the beach, and a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The room was cleaned daily, which was much appreciated, and the breakfast was decent.

A beautiful stay at Turtle bay. The staff were absolutely EXCEPTIONAL!!!! We've never felt so welcomed and looked after. Big shout out to Salat, Amila and of course San. Chef was incredible we loved his Sri Lankan dishes the most including the breakfast, and his Sri Lankan curry in the evening. I also had specific dietary requirements and they were brilliant at catering and adapting the menu to me. Had the best full body massage I've ever had! The room was spotless and water always topped up, the surroundings and pool were beautiful. Such a peaceful place perfect for relaxation and unwinding.

“A Quiet, Beautiful Escape”

Our stay at Turtle Bay Resort was nothing short of special. This is a thoughtfully designed boutique property that instantly makes you slow down and settle into its rhythm. Set on an almost private, serene beach in Tangalle, the location is its biggest luxury- quiet, untouched, and incredibly calming. There isn’t much to do around, but that’s precisely the charm. You come here to stay in, soak in the beauty, and truly unwind. The property itself is stunning - tasteful, minimal, and very well managed. What really elevates the experience is the hospitality and the staff. All of them were warm, attentive and thoughtful. We loved our dinner by the beach so effortlessly managed and also the cute turtle souvenir for our child at check out! The food as well was fresh, delicious, and made with care although limited in options. We only stayed for two days, but this is definitely a place we’d return to for a longer, slower holiday, with our family. A truly beautiful boutique stay where everything just was right!

We stayed here for one night after booking it the same day because we wanted to go to the beach. I would have happily stayed here for longer. The hotel is a bit older but that actually gives it a certain charm and warm character. Despite the small number of rooms it really feels like a resort hotel with a good pool, there are many places to lounge in the sun and very friendly and attentive staff. The prices for food and drink are very reasonable. The rooms are spacious (massive beds) with good Aircon and showers.

we loved our stay here. if you like peace and quiet this is the place. we enjoyed lovely long walks on the beach and although you can't swim there it is lovely to sit in the waves to cool off. the staff here are amazing and nothing was too much trouble. I had the best massage I have ever had and a wonderful facial. there are a couple of small local restaurants a short Tuk Tuk ride away.
