Everything was exceptional - perfect location and beautiful rooms. Food was delicious and the best breakfasts of our entire trip. Staff were very friendly and extremely efficient - you’re own personal butler! Just fantastic.

“Best place to stay in Sri Lanka.”

This was the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka. The sea is calm for swimming, but also good for belly surfing (hotel provides). There are some small restaurants near by ( Sea Dragon was the best one we tried). Breakfast was good, they give you a menu and you can keep ordering whatever you like (I liked their banana bread :) )

The property was absolutely beautiful and the chance to stay in such an architectural house was memorable. We had a room with our own private courtyard, which gave us the benefit of being able to arrange a massage in privacy. The property was beautifully maintained. Being footsteps from a secluded beach was also wonderful.

Such a beautiful hotel and the staff are amazing. Highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka!

“A must stay - by far the most exceptional stay on our honeymoon”

- Lovely airy room with super views of the garden and sea from the room (even from our bed!). Our room had its own balcony space with table and chairs. - Shower room was well equipped with both indoor and outdoor showers. Gorgeous scented shower gel, shampoos and conditioner (happy wife after a morning in the sea). - The hotel garden backs straight onto a sandy beach which is not busy - felt almost like a private beach! We walked along and watched sunset in the evening, and then saw some fishing boats pushing out in the morning. - The hotel has a handful of bodyboards which you can borrow, and pool/beach towels so you can play in the waves. - Food was excellent and very good service. Rice and curry was delicious, and breakfast offers a wide range of options. - Staff were really great: the perfect level of attentive without being overbearing. My wife was unwell (from a previous stay) and they accommodated her dietary requirements with ease and offered advice on local pharmacies.

“Paradise - as simple as that”

Great location at a very quiet beach. We were upgraded to the Master suite - huge and very comfortable 4-poster bed with impeccable mosquito netting. Simply stunning and enormous. To be mentioned that there are no glass windows but sliding wooden shutters. Lovely garden with ample space, parading peacocks. Wonderful staff, great cooking. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable - we will back in due time!

“Superb”

The Last House came recommended and it exceeded all expectations. We had the whole place to ourself at 1 point. Everything was perfect from the room, to the garden, to the pool, to the pristine and empty beach. The staff are wonderful and the food is divine. You have to go to understand how wonderful this place is as it is hard to express in words. 3 wonderful relaxing nights in this little peace of heaven.

I haven't stopped thinking about this place since we left. Its a total oasis, an easy tuktuk rude from more of a 'scene' in Hiriketya should you want it, but nothing but the sound of the waves and wildlife at the end of a single track lane. The garden steps directly onto Mawella beach - gold sand and huge waves that we could hear from our bedroom. The Geoffrey Bawa Architecture is beautiful, we could see the sea from our bed, and so much colour was used throughout the house. The team are so kind but really relaxed which we loved. They even played cricket with my husband! We visited in low season (early October) but would love to come back. We dreamt of filling every room with our friends and family. Please stay here and experience a beautiful home and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality.
