Set 12 km from Hummanaya Blow Hole and 3.2 km from Tangalle Lagoon, The Box House features accommodation located in Tangalle. The property is 3.5 km away from the city center, and 1 km away from the popular Marakolliya beach, it is located on the beach access road. Guests have a private patio. This villa, made up of five re-purposed shipping containers, features a living room. All rooms have TVs and air conditioning with en suite bathrooms and supplied with top quality hotel grade linen. The staff were incredibly friendly, respectful, and professional. Their excellent service really made my stay even more enjoyable. Just fabulous place in every since - nature in the back-yard. Calm and peaceful area to spend few days in. The area have some good food options in walking distance. The beach is 20 min on foot but it’s one of the good ones to spend the day in. We went out for canoeing with the caretaker of the place (Dilhan). It was super cool that he was so service minded and even went with him to watch turtle at the night when they came in for laying eggs. A good surprise for us / and we loved the design and the thinking of containers in the place. For transport - please contact the owner Kasun. He has a good team in place to get you down to Tangalle and back to Colombo/ Airport.

We had a wonderful time at the Box House. The staff was really helpful with everything and quickly attended to our needs. The food was delicious. The rooms were clean and spacious. The environment was quiet and it was perfect for a relaxing family getaway.

“Stylish and calm”
A great place to chill with family and friends. The beds are comfortable, the facilities are tidy and clean, and the staff is friendly and knows what to do and how to treat guests well. I would especially like to mention a good set of dishes for serving the table.

“The people make this place - they were lovely 😻”
The property is a design delight - really stunning but it is a little tired and could do with a slight bit of refreshing. The people working there were amazing and could not do enough to ensure the property was clean, you had everything you needed and provided fabulous food. The pool is amazing - really good size.

“Brilliant villa!”
The villa was spotlessly clean and clearly well looked after. The staff were always on hand and really helpful. It was just a gorgeous place to chill and only a 10 / 15 minute walk to the beach, passing lovely people on the way and sometimes monkeys. We would definitely stay again!

“The Box House Tangalle - a truly magical experience.”
The intimate setting, impeccable service, and stunning architecture created the perfect backdrop for our stay in Tangalle. The attention to detail, from the charmingly curated decor to the exquisite cuisine, exceeded our expectations. Dillhan and the team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We had massage therapy from Glow Tangalle under a canopy of trees in the grounds and a trip to see Whales in Marissa.

What a fantastic place! Everything looked like in the pictures. We had a remarkable time just hanging out at the pole and enjoying the food that Dilhan and his team where preparing. The space was spotlessly clean and the design of the place is very tasteful. We slept very well in our comfortable beds.
