It is close to the beach. Breakfast was ok. The owner gave us a router for wifi connection. We could use their sun bed on the beach.

We had an amazing stay! The hosts are a wonderful family who made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was incredible fresh fruits, papaya, juicy mangoes, tea, and a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, all served generously. Dinner was equally amazing, with a variety of flavorful curries. We tried many restaurants nearby, but theirs was by far the best truly the best food in Sri Lanka! The apartment itself is spacious, comfortable, and offers great privacy. You can even spot monkeys on the trees from the terrace amazing! The nearby beach is one of the best I’ve seen in Sri Lanka. I highly recommend this place; it’s truly unforgettable!

The family is very friendly and welcoming and goes out of their way to help you with anything!

“Disappointing Experience Despite Great Location”

We stayed at Thatched Villa for one night as we wanted to explore both Secret Beach and Goyambokka Beach. The location is excellent — just a 2-minute walk to Goyambokka Beach and around 12 minutes to Secret Beach. We personally preferred Goyambokka, especially when travelling with children, as the water is much calmer and safer. Secret Beach, on the other hand, tends to have rougher waves. The owners, a local Sri Lankan family, were extremely friendly and welcoming, which we truly appreciate.

“Perfect homestay!”

Amazing bungalow, in a beautiful, green area. I extended for 6 nights and would have happily stayed even longer. The room was incredibly comfortable and the covered outside area was ideal, particularly when rainy. Less than 5 minutes to the beach and close to little restaurants.

Very close to Silent Beach. Probably the closest guesthouse to the beach. Lovely breakfast and the best beach we visited in Sri Lanka.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The owner & family are super nice and the beach is one minute away :) There are also lots of restaurants around. I would definitely come again!

“Nice family run bungalows and reastaurant”

Clean and well equiped rooms with nice veranda at the front. A lot of different wild animals coming very close. We admired the peacocks, monkeys, squirrels and colourful birds around. Just about 2 minutes walk to the silent beach. Very nice and helpful staff and delicious cuisine prepared by the owner family.

The staff is super nice!! They offered us a juice when we arrived and banana fried when it was raining, also super helpful!!

we stayed in the big room with air conditioning, and it was amazing. the room is super spacious with a large bathroom and plenty of space to move around, roll out your yoga mat, or chill on the veranda with a book. the guesthouse is set in a beautiful garden, right next to the owners’ cozy restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food all day. the location is perfect: just walk down the path, and you’re at one of sri lanka’s most stunning beaches. we visited in january, and it was wonderfully quiet - a true oasis of calm. great value for the price, and the hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful.

It is not recommended for female solo travelers to go on trips with this host. During an outing to see turtles on the beach, the host behaved inappropriately, harassing me by touching me without my consent, despite my clear unwillingness and objections.

Incredible location and beautiful family staff ready to welcome you with the best food and warm hospitality. The beach is just a 2 minute walk and together with the room you can have free sun beds. Highly recommended ❤️
