Close to Goyambokka beach. Lovely view of the sea from our terrace. Was nice to wake up with the sound of the waves. Nice and quiet location.

Polish language below: One of the best hotels we've ever had. Malka, the hotel owner, was incredibly hospitable and helpful. The room definitely looks better than the photos. We had a sea-view room, very spacious with high ceilings in a Boho style. The rooms are new and clean. There was a refrigerator in the room, the beach bag was nice add. The breakfasts were among the best in Sri Lanka. There is the laundry option in this hotel.The hotel is also run by a Polish woman - Ela who was incredibly kind to us we felt right at home there. She was always available by phone, and we could ask her anything we wanted. She advised us on where to eat and what to do in the area. The area itself was excellent. Next to the hotel is a quiet, small beach where there are no sunbeds and no crowds. Nearby are two bigger beaches with dining options: Goyambokka Beach and Silent Beach, where the sunsets were spectacular. I 100% recommend this hotel. We will come back again surely. This is a wonderful place! The first time in my many years of travel that a room was better than the photos! The view is breathtaking, the room very clean and spacious. We would certainly come back here, and the staff and family are heartwarming people, thank you for making our stay wonderful!

This was honestly one of the best stays of the entire trip - a 100 out of 10 experience. Malika and Ella are exceptional hosts and truly the heart of Star Beach Hotel. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel genuinely welcome and taken care of. Their warmth, attentiveness, and kindness elevated the entire stay. The room itself was fantastic, with an amazing view that you could wake up to every morning. The location is perfect - peaceful and calm, yet conveniently close to both Goyambokka Beach and Silent Beach, making it ideal for relaxing without the crowds. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared, and enjoying it with that view made it even better. Everything about this place just worked perfectly - comfort, hospitality, location, and atmosphere. Would come back here in a heartbeat and recommend it without a second thought.

The property is run by a Sri Lankan woman Malka with the help of a Polish lady Ela , located right by the beautiful Goyambokka Beach. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a beautiful bathroom, a large bed with a mosquito net, a fridge, and air conditioning. The terrace offers a stunning view. Just a minute from the property is the most beautiful beach in Tangalle. In the garden, peacocks and monitor lizards roam, along with the owner’s very friendly dogs. For breakfast, we had scrambled eggs made to order, fresh fruit, and good coffee.they built more rooms and more amenities.

We liked the place very much, because it was cozy and quiet. Little bit away from the main road, so all you can hear were birds and ocean. We stayed on the second floor of the cottage and had amazing view and terrace. Malka, the owner, is very warm person and you can feel as being part of the family with her. We also had wonderful breakfast! Thank you for the pleasant stay 🌷

We spent 5 nights there. We arrived early and didn’t even mention it, but they welcomed us very kindly. We received the upstairs room, which has an indescribable view of the ocean — not only from the balcony, but from our bed as well. Everything is freshly renovated and clean. Breakfast is excellent, the fruit is fresh, and the Sri Lankan omelette made by the hosts is very delicious. They are flexible and helpful in every way. The place provides everything you need for a magical holiday. I recommend it to anyone who truly wants to relax in a picturesque setting.

A truly exceptional place for a complete reset. The hotel is nestled in postcard-worthy garden, with the ocean stretching out right in front of the windows and the soothing sound of waves in the background. The rooms are freshly renovated, spotless, and tastefully decorated – the kind you’re happy to return to. The biggest treasure here is the intimate, almost private beach. During our stay, we counted… five people on it. A perfect oasis if you dream of silence and your own space. Just a few minutes’ walk away you’ll find two more beaches – larger, with sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports, and a wide, gentle entry into the ocean. There are no stalls, hawkers, plastic trinkets, or any of the typical tourist fuss that can spoil even the most beautiful coastline. Here you get peace, space, and nature – with nothing unnecessary. You can easily find small restaurants in the area, both on the beach and in nearby local hotels. They serve fresh fish, seafood, and traditional Sri Lankan dishes you’ll have trouble walking away from. The experience is made complete by the wonderful owners, Malka and Ela – warm, helpful, and always smiling. You can feel how much they care about their guests. Every morning we were served a classic breakfast: fresh fruit, eggs, bread, and roti. Everything fragrant, natural, and absolutely delicious! The whole place makes you never want to leave. I truly hope we’ll come back one day.

“Beautiful views but no video cameras to see who forced our room and robbed us”

- the host, the lady, she was very nice and kind, she was very responsive to all the needs we had, with really fast replies and support - building from the right side looking at the sea has amazing views over the ocean, both from ground floor and first floor - big clean room, big bathroom, very nice big terrace - nice dogs on the property - I would have given a 9 to this property IF WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ROBBED ONE DAY PRIOR TO OUR DEPARTURE, BU FORCING THE LOCKED WINDOW WHILE WE WERE AT BREAKFAST!

Beachfront location you can see the sunrise from your bed. The hosts were so kind and accommodating. Hope to come back one day.

The location is just awesome. With access to a private beach and surrounded by a lot of coconut trees. AC worked quite well.

Breakfast is abundant and delicious, with fresh fruits (banana, papaya, mango and pineapple) and eggs. The location is amazing, with wonderful ocean views, Swimming beach just minutes away. The best was the lovely lady who took care of us there. We loved meeting her and her sons and being a part of her family while we were there.

“Piece of heaven, but needs a little maintenance”

Very nice place. We had a reservation for 2 nights, but we stayed 2 more. The view from the terrace to the ocean is priceless. Lots of wild birds and animals roam around the yard, which was an exciting experience. Less than 5 minutes away is one of the best beaches in southern Sri Lanka, according to Tripadvisor and YouTube rankings - Goyambokka beach. You can use sunbeds for free by ordering drinks from the bars. Yellow Mellow is a very nice beach bar, and you can use a board for swimming in the ocean for free, in addition to a sunbed. For food in the area, we tried many restaurants, but the grilled fish was the most delicious at Chanu Home restaurant 600m away. You can find it on Google Maps.
