Manu was a really friendly host, I felt very welcome. The room was clean and spacious, really big bed, bathroom had everything you need inc hot water. Nice breakfast. And Menaka Homestay could barely be closer to the beach - yet on a quiet side street. Great value for money.

Everything….firstly thank you to Manu and his wife for being fantastic hosts, such kind hospitality, and all the help you gave us. Good clean comfortable rooms, with nice hot shower. Excellent home cooked food. Great location, 5 min walk to tangalle beach, close to town centre and bus station. It was great to spend time with you and your family, watch the cricket, and eat fantastic seafood that we bought and you cooked for us. You gave us unforgettable memories! Wished we have stayed longer, but it is hoped that we will see you again. Hope you enjoyed the cigar! Would highly recommended.

“Excellent place to stay”

The MENAKA HOMESTAY is a quiet place with excellent location - max 5 min to the beach and to the bus station. Rooms with hot water, clean and Manu with his wife are very friendly and helpful. I booked only one night, but then I prolong my stay with additional two nights. I‘ll be coming back 🤗

The communication before my arrival was already very friendly. I had made a mistake with the booking date, but changing it was no problem at all. When I arrived, I was warmly welcomed – even with a fresh coconut. The room was clean, had a private bathroom, hot shower, a good mosquito net and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The local breakfast was very delicious and plentiful. The location is great: only a 5-minute walk from the bus station, close to the beach and right next to a really good restaurant. The outdoor area is especially lovely – almost like a small beer garden – perfect for relaxing. The common area is cozy, there are a few games and the WiFi was the best I’ve had so far in Sri Lanka. I would have loved to stay one more night, but unfortunately I had to change my plans.

This place is just amazing. I feel there like at home. Owners are amazing, helpfully with everything what I needed, kind, friendly.. just cannot describe more. For sure I will come back soon. Everything was clean, food was amazing, place is near the beach and centrum also. I stayed there 2 nights but after I booked next two nights. Because just everything there amazing. My second family :-). 10/10 recomended.

Manu and his wife are the best hosts I’ve ever met. They made me feel at home and helped me to arrange every move/tour I had planned including a beautiful safari with a private jeep.

Super food , clean room, friendly owner

The hosts were so friendly and helpful giving information about what to do in the area. The breakfast was really good and the room was clean and the shower was really good. Location was so close to the beach and also a short walk to the centre of town. A lot of restaurants and cafes close by.

The hosts of the place, Manu and Shashi, are people of great heart! Very helpful, friendly, and always smiling. The place has all you need. Hot shower, air con, fan, comfortable bed. There is plenty of outdoor space to chill out. You can order there a dinner made from fresh fish and seafood caught by Manu. Very Yummy 😋 Additionally, Menaka is close to the beach, restaurants, and the town centre. But really, you go there to make a great friendship. Manu and Shashi, we miss you ♥️

Clean and comfortable budget accommodation. Great value. The family that run the homestay are very kind and helpful. Decent WiFi, hot water and AC, all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
