“Incredible welcoming hosts in a blissfully peaceful and beautiful atmosphere. 10/10 amazing stay!”

The property was absolutely gorgeous. So much attention to detail, spotlessly clean, and included very nice, good quality amenities (everything is provided even including toothbrushes, so no need to pack). There were snacks, tea/coffee and other refreshments included too. The very comfortable bed was carefully decorated with flowers for our arrival, which was incredibly beautiful and made us feel welcomed and special! About the outdoor areas, the pool was just blissful. Not too warm and not too cold! There’s also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim or wash away sand after a trip to the beach, and separate very large pool towels are provided to dry off then relax on the comfortable outdoor lounge chairs. The hammock was perfect for chilling to read a book. The private breakfast area is so nice as well. All outdoor areas were very well maintained and perfectly clean and tidy. They serve breakfast right at the villa, so eating was private and peaceful. The local food served was EXCELLENT. In fact, it was by far the best, most authentic food we ate in our whole trip - we went with all the traditional options and everything they served had a wonderful, home-cooked style that made us feel like we were getting a true taste of Sri Lanka. Delicious and fresh and clearly prepared with care and love! There are no restaurants/shops immediately around the property, and in Sri Lankan daytime heat the walk to the beach and restaurants near the beach is a little far. However the manager was always available via WhatsApp at any time and very very quick to respond to requests to call for a cheap tuktuk to go anywhere that you want, so the slightly isolated location was no problem at all. Actually, it was a lovely peaceful area with the calming sounds of nature all around instead of noisy vehicle sounds etc. So it was perfect in every way and we felt the quiet location was actually a significant bonus not a negative point.

This is a fairy-tale house where each and every detail is made and treated with love! All villas have an AC, comfy spacious round beds, good pillows, we slept like babies. Our villa had a swimming pool, the staying was super comfortable, quite and relaxing. And we had monkeys playing in the garden - such a show))) The breakfasts were made with love. My favorite ones were the pancakes with coconut and honey, made by the mother of the host - just delicious!!! Hirushan, the host, is a caring and very attentive young man. He makes his guests to feel like home and to get the best possible experiences in the south of Sri Lanka. It is not a beach front location, but the lagoon is just in few steps and by tuk-tuk you can be at the ocean in 5-7 min.

“A unique and beautiful stay in Tangalle”

Beautiful property with your own private manicured garden. Very clean, a very cold fridge (rare in Sri Lankan accommodations), a huge, comfortable bed with mosquito nets and great air con! The owner was exceptionally helpful and made sure our stay was perfect. He even picked me up from hospital after I injured myself at the beach!

We really liked being in the wild, with passing animals. The room is quite big, so is the bathroom (with all necesarry equipment). The host is very welcoming and answered all our questions, had great recommandations for activities. The breakfast is original and very tasty ! We absolutely recommend to stop here for the beach, the animals, and the people.

We stayed in the Hobbit House with the private pool. It was amazing. Really beautiful setting and lovely to use the pool whenever we wanted to. Hiusham was very helpful and recommended good places for us to visit on the scooter he arranged for us.

The location is great - you can walk to the beach and the lagoon but is very quite and out the way, there are also nice local restaurants around. There were so many small details which made the stay so nice and the breakfast was amazing! The hosts were so helpful booking tours or arranging transport.

What an incredible place to stay! Due to our plans we only got to stay one night but would have loved to extend it. The amount of attention/effort in evry detail is amazing. The owner is highly friendly as all the other employees. They really want you to have a wonderful experience.

It’s the perfect balance of a luxury feel with attentive staff and a great price. I would definitely stay here again, come here to get away from the stereotypical busy south of Sri Lanka. You won’t regret it if you love nature while being comfortable.

The most helpful staff and delicious breakfasts and dinners and Hirushan is the perfect host. A family run business where the huts are clean, spacious and wonderfully designed. We had the pool hut, it was wonderful and there are plans to build another. The area around is well worth exploring as it almost seems untouched. The beaches are nearby and beautiful. I would recommend to anyone. Kayaking on the lagoon was a highlight.

“Original and super worthy experience.”

Tranquil location, very quiet, romantic and private - we had a perfect stay here during our honeymoon. Set in a stunning village, the hosts are incredibly warm and hospitable, they sorted out tuktuks and a kayak for us to explore the neighbouring lagoon. Fantastic food, we were left stuffed everyday!

“A memorable stay!”

The Igabara Hobbit House was everything we dreamed of and more! We were kindly upgraded to the option with a private pool and it was the best hotel on our trip (probably ever) and we will fondly remember our stay here. The owner had thought of everything from the detail in the beach bag to the amazing breakfast we were served in our private dining area every morning. It’s the perfect location for a quieter more peaceful beach stay in Tangalle with delicious seafood restaurants near by (Happy Beach Sea View Cabin Restaurant was our favourite). A must stay, 100/10 !!!

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. Everything was perfect, but what really made our stay special was the owner. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. The atmosphere was cozy, and we enjoyed every minute. We will definitely be back! 10/10 recommended.
