One of our favorite stays in Sri Lanka, surprisingly! The location is just great - outside the touristy area but enough nice places to get coffee or food. We loved the beach, where the Turtle Conservation project is fortunately located. Staff were very helpful in helping us reserve for restaurants and getting groceries. We definitely will go back next time!

I stayed 17 nights at Home in the Island in Tangalle, and it’s unforgettable. Every morning, birds and peacocks roam the tropical garden, sometimes monkeys appear, and the sound of the waves adds to the peaceful atmosphere. With 4 rooms, an indoor and outdoor pool, stunning views, and nearby beaches, it’s the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature. Rajith and his family are extraordinary, welcoming, kind, and truly like family. This place stays with you long after you leave.

I stayed at Home in the Island for twenty six nights. It's location is fantastic. It's in a very quiet road and only a few minutes walk to an amazing, near deserted, beach. I love to sit quietly in the beautiful and well kept garden. Keenly observing the wildlife that ventures in. The host is very helpful. Also often brings you a small treat from home, such as a local snack or drink. I would definitely return.

Great stay at Home on the Island. The host is incredibly helpful & attentive: he helped organise scooter rental & laundry, provided us with a welcome drink on arrival , coconut sambols + tea on checkout, drove us to the bus station in his tuk tuk & found the correct bus for our journey. This hospitality made our stay the most enjoyable experience. The room itself was basic but clean, shower warm & good mosquito net/ comfy bed. Overall great value stay!

“Tranquility.”

Tranquility at its finest. An absolutely fantastic garden to just sit and enjoy. No people or traffic passing by. Just the sounds of nature for company. Easy walk to one of the nicest beaches you'll ever visit. Room is large, clean and comfortable. The pictures here really do it no justice. Highly recommended.

The host and his wife are welcome and hospitable people. The breakfasts were very good. The house is located in quite and very green place. About 7-8 minutes from the house is the long picturesque beach and turtle center. I regret that I had very little time and stayed only for 2 nights in such a wonderful place. It was such a pleasure to be there.

The accommodation is outside of Tangalle, close to the lagoon, perfect if you like to enjoy being surrounded by nature. The host welcomed us with a drink and prepared a delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. He was very helpful and assisted us with any questions we had. The room is clean and the garden with its peacocks is beautiful and invites you to relax. The beach is less than 10 minutes away. To reach Tangalle, you need to take the Bus, Tuk Tuk or a scooter.

“Hidden Gem in Tangalle at affordable price”

Pros : Amazing host.. Mr. Ranjith's hospitality is top notch.. so affectionate & carrying host. On the day of arrival he greeted us with sweet tender coconut. The next morning he warmed us with his homemade coconut pancake. The day we departed he treated us with ragi malt with dry fruits. Each day he greeted us with special dishes. He also arranged a scooty for us at an affordable price. He did all the facilities for us. The room was clean and comfortable. The toilet is big & spacious. Good room with an affordable price. Must recommend in Tangalle, away from the busy city. At the walkable distance one can reach a private turtle beach. Luckily we saw a big turtle on shore.. as a couple we enjoyed the stay..

We were on site for 3 nights and absolutely happy! Beautifully surrounded by nature and tranquility. The two hosts are especially sweet, have made us feel more than welcome <3

The Host is very helpful and the location is near some beautiful beaches outside of Tangalle. Talk to the host, who will help you to rent a scooter pretty cheap for 2k/day. Then you will have a great time there.

“Divine”

Heaven on earth, a hidden gem. Occasionally stopped there during my motorbike trip and it totally blew my mind away. The room is extremely comfortable and the bed looks like it's created for a honey moon. Bathroom features hot shower. It's very big and clean. You can cook your meal in the open kitchen. There is also a swimming pool. The property is surrounded by an extremely beautiful, lush garden visited by wild peacocks. The beach nearby is extremely deserted, wide and wild. It bring the feeling of vastness and openness. It's magical! At night you can see the Milky way right from your wide open windows. The owner and his family are extremely helpful and friendly. They went a distance to make me feel at home. Thank you so much! Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a private time. You might want to rent a scooter as it's a few km away from main shopping places. This is what makes this place so unique. And the price is just a joke comparing to the things you will get.

I really liked this hotel! Everything is fine, kind, sincere family! Great people who helped us in everything, the best hotel where we were on Sri Lanka! The owner, wife and his children are generous, kind and friendly! We will definitely come again, and definitely to this hotel! Beautiful territory, kitchen, nice clean and large room with a comfortable bed, we didn't get enough sleep anywhere like there! You definitely won't regret it if you go there, you want to stay there! This place is heaven on earth! The host welcomed us with a coconut on the terrace. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Also the breakfast was incredible, so many different Sri Lankan options. Thank you very much, I would definitely recommend this place!

“super Platz zum entspannen”

Super beautiful terrain with many pafuen. A unheat pool (super as cooling) or in 3 minutes on a beautiful quiet beach. We were greeted with tea and dry fruits. The owners are very nice and helpful. We were also able to book breakfast on site, the Sri Lankan breakfast was very plentiful and super delicious. It's a bit out of the way but great for relaxing. A supermarket, some restaurants and bars are easily accessible on foot. We can only recommend the place
