Really lovely welcoming hosts. Friendly but not trying to upsell, just genuine guys. Massive room surrounded by lush garden full of animals and exotic plants. Great birdwatching, tried tamarind from one of the trees and also saw giant black squirrel. Other options to eat nearby and beach less then 10 min walk. Stay here, you won't regret it.

Heaven indeed! We had an excellent stay from the first moment. Chami and Dalu welcomed us with big smiles, they, and also Vihanga, are very friendly and helpful! The place is beautiful, the room was very spacious and decorated with flowers upon our arrival. Chami‘s dinner cooked with love was so delicious! The surrounding is great, the beaches close in walking distance. Dalu drove us and even accompanied us to the rock temple, climbing 400 steps, and supplied us with coconuts and hoppers on the way back. So many lovely details that made our stay very enjoyable! Thanks a lot!!!

Room and bathroom very comfortable and spacious. A peaceful green environment, close to lake which is good for kayaking and a lagoon with many bird varieties. Good breakfast and lovely very helpful staff. Great shuttle service.

Great location for the beach and the Kalametiya bird sanctuary. Dalu, Prasadi and Chami were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They organised our trips to the bird sanctuary and turtle beach for a good price and Dalu drove us in his own car. Rooms very clean, comfortable and spacious with a lovely big balcony surrounded by trees and wildlife, overlooking the beautifully maintained garden, in which Dalu takes great pride. The rooms were so well-equipped with lovely touches: filtered water on tap, torch, umbrella (not needed!), mosquito repellent, safe, tea-making facilities, huge comfy beds. Now for the food! It was so good we didn't need to go out anywhere else! Chami took great delight in, and put his heart into, serving us a variety of Sri Lankan cuisine and each meal was a feast of flavours, accompanied by beautiful table settings of fresh flowers from the garden. Breakfasts were amazing and so satisfying we didn't need anything else during the daytime. They were made even more special by watching the birds and squirrels feeding at the bird table!

rekawa beach is at walking distance, staff is very attentive, would definitely book again if going back to sri lanka.

“Wonderfully peaceful spot, spacieuse rooms and super welcome by owner and staff.”

Lovely location in tropical setting with a mini lagoon opposite full of wild life, walking distance to beaches as well as super places to eat. We chilled on the balconies - incense kept the mozzies away. The staff were wonderful- welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and healthy.

“Tranquil location near Rekawa Beach”

The property has four rooms, which all have a balcony overlooking the beautiful garden area (filled with birds, chipmunks, peacocks and is wonderfully relaxing to listen to). It was nice to have the outside area to eat dinner one evening (which was wonderfully cooked and price on par with the restaurants in the area!), or to use the space to read and listen to birds or to hang dry clothes from the beach. The room was large with plenty of storage space; great aircon that did not blow directly onto the bed. The bathroom looked new and was clean. I asked for an extra bath towel and got it - as well as was able to borrow a beach towel. Room also had a 5L water bottle which was amazing for refilling my water bottle or using for brushing teeth/boiling water! Breakfast was different each morning with different fruit juices; eggs and toast; and sweet treats. It was nice to eat whilst watching the wildlife in the garden also eating the food left out by the staff. The place is a 10minute walk to the beach to see the turtles - great that there was a torchlight and large umbrella in the room, which I used in the evenings as not all alleys are lit. Finally, Chami, Dumee and the team were truly wonderful and went the extra mile for me - be it always being available via WhatsApp for support, taking me on scooter rides to the beach and to see the temple or bringing me a coconut and treats upon arrival back at the hotel.

This is a really beautiful tranquil place to spend some time relaxing away from busier Tangalle. Chami and his family are perfect hosts making you feel right at home. The room I stayed in was the best room I’d had in Sri Lanka at this price point. Breakfast and all meals were tasty and big portions! Rekawa Beach rock pools are a 10 minute walk away and the safe swimming area 15 minutes. It is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen and turtle watching is a must! Thank you so much :)

Everything was excellent. Beautiful garden, room. Lovely team who really looked after me and drove me to lots of places on both errands and birdwatching. Delicious breakfast. Really near the beach which was beautiful. Saw some great turtles. Absolutely stay here if you get the chance. Also felt really safe as a solo female traveller.

“Just a perfect place to stay and right at the Rekawa beach which is still quite unknown and empty.”

First and foremost the host and his team are doing everything to make you feel comfortable and are welcoming every guest with a big and open heart. We, for example, had a problem with the oil in our Tuktuk so the guys immediately drove us to a place to fix it. The rooms are very clean and quite spacious compared to other accommodations in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was great and included several courses. If needed you can also have dinner at this place, which was amazing. Especially the fried eggplant salad (brinjal sambol) was heavenly! You can tell the team any wishes for food, drinks and beyond (e.g. laundry, room service, new towels). We can absolutely recommend this place and would for sure come back here next time we visit Sri Lanka! And last but not least a big shout out goes out to Chamni who is the most amazing manager and cook at this place - keep up the great work Chamni & team!

Amazing please with amazing staff!!!!!! Everything was perfect!!!! The room was very big and very clean!!! Nice balcony with the garden view!!! Always fresh breakfast and good food for lunch or dinner! It was just 5 minutes by walk to the beach!!! This is really Heaven! The place had such a nice atmosphere. The peace and quiet and all the green surroundings made us wish we could have stayed longer. We were greeted with flowers and the room and breakfast table was also nicely decorated with flowers. Great staff too. Highly recommended place to stay.

This was one of our favourite stays whilst in Sri Lanka. Room was spacious and super clean with the best shower. Staff were helpful and friendly, had an amazing breakfast each day, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely peaceful unspoilt location. Short walk to a beautiful quiet beach with a rock pool area for swimming. Couple of beach bars for a sun lounger, drinks and seafood. Lagoon across the way with lots of birds and short walk to the turtle sanctuary in the evening where we saw turtles laying eggs.
