“Submerged in nature, quiet and not close to loud traffic. Lovely spot would stay again.”
Beautiful spot. Hot showers. A nature lovers dream. Close walk to restaurants and shops. After 3 weeks of traveling Sri Lanka this has to be one of my favourites.

“Lovely place near Yala 5 & 6”
The location is perfect for visiting blocks 5 and 6 of Yala National Park. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming. They took us on a jeep ride in the evening at sunset to try to spot elephants, which was a lovely experience. They also offered to organize a campfire (unfortunately it rained so we couldn’t do it, but the idea was really sweet). They helped us book a taxi for our next destination and kindly allowed us a late checkout. Communication via WhatsApp and in person was excellent. As we were the only guests that night, we could choose which of the two accommodations we wanted to stay in. The tent terrace is very pleasant, with a beautiful view over the garden and surrounding fields. We even saw many peacocks around, which was amazing.

“Great location and a lovely host”
The room is super comfortable with good air conditioning, and the location is very convenient for Lunugamvehera National Park and for the bus station, just a minute walk away. It's close to the main road but you can't really hear the traffic from the rooms. Prasad is a fantastic host. I told him I was interested in birds and he very kindly took me to different lakes in the nearby area on three occasions, he was so kind and helpful. I did an afternoon safari and it was amazing, despite not seeing a leopard. There are so many other birds and mammals to see there, it was so much fun. I read in other reviews that the family cooks meals here, but this must have changed because there was a cook there that prepares evening meals. The food is very good and plentiful, but I think it's just limited to curry. There's a cafe a short walk away towards the main road, but I recommend going to one of the local restaurants where you can get a really tasty local breakfast or dinner for very cheap.

“Quirky and fun”
We stayed in a tented accomodation (with aircon and wifi) I would recommend this above the cabins. We woke up to the sound of a peacock crowing above the tent. They are able to provide very good guided tours of the nearby safari parks which were outstanding. We saw a leopard and a sloth bear and many other animals.

“Wonderful”
Setting was lovely. Kids loved all the wildlife close to accomodation, baya weaver bird nests, water monitor, tortise, carpenter bees, frogs, monkeys and dinner round the bonfire was fun. Super close to Yala enterence we did block 5 and 6. First block we were only safari truck. Great guide that read animal behavior so we saw heaps and in quiet setting just able to observe natural behavior. We were super lucky and had a great time thanks for our stay

“Comfy and close to Lunugamvehera!”
All in all - a very welcoming and cozy place very close to the Lunugamvehera park/Yala block VI, it took less than 5 minutes by jeep to reach the entrance. The host was very kind, helpful and attending to our needs. He also gave us privacy and made us feel at ease staying in his back yard. He set up two great days of safari, all meals and drinks included, as well as the transport to our next location, which was a bit of a journey (not too many Ubers in the area so this was very helpful). We stayed in the little house with one double bed, it was quite simple but very comfy and clean. The host set up a bonfire in the yard for just the two of us one night, and served delicious barbecue. On request and at a very low cost, he set up a beautiful breakfast in front of our house.

The hut was really nice, simple room in the nature. The garden is great. Also its located near to the busstation and some local restaurants, but still its a quiet nice place. The owner is very nice and helpful and organized a great safari for us. Yala block 6 is beautiful and we saw almost no other jeeps there!

“Very chill and local spot where you can do a less crowdy safari”
The place is very simple but it has enough for a couple night staying. If you want some peace and a chill time before go to the crowder places in Sri Lanka I think is a right place. The owner was super kind and he helped us with everything You can also book a safari tour with the hostel. It was a fair price and the entrance of the N. Park you have there is much less crowdy than the most famous one. We could see many different animals, and our guide Weli was also very nice guy. He speaks good english and after the safari we shared a beer and a very nice talk. If you want visit a local village... Very recomended place!!! 10/10

“Nice place for safaris in Yala national park”
Very friendly and helpful host. He organized two full day safaris for us - one in Block 5&6 and one in Block 1 of the Yala national park. They were both amazing and we could (besides elephants, monkeys, crocodiles,...) observe 4 leopards and even a mother with her cub! 😍 The huge tent with the veranda was just perfect. We could even observe several animals like peacocks and mungos directly from there. One evening the host's mum spontaneously cooked for us and we even got the dinner served to our veranda. Another evening he took us by car to a restaurant. So overall it was a great experience and I can only recommend this place.

“Wonderful stay before a safari!”
We loved the accommodation, with a beautiful terrace at the front overlooking nature and the sunset. The owner was helpful in arranging a safari and for advising restaurants in the neighbourhood for take away (so we could it with the beautiful view). The sanitaire was clean.

“Fantastic stay!”
Extremely friendly owners! A family run business. Prasad is so very kind and thoughtful. The room was clean and spacious. Aircon works well, small kitchenette with fridge, kettle and cookers in the room. Nice outdoor space to chill with chairs, table and hammock. Prasad even took us to a wonderful swimming spot on the river to cool off!

We booked a Safari via the accommodation and the experience was just exceptional because of the guide. He did everything he could so that we can see as much animals as possible ! He spent much more time than planned. A very big thanks for that. Only because of that we saw several elephants in the end 🥰

Really enjoyed our one night stay here. Owner was really friendly. It’s a one horse town but we had a great night in the local pub with the locals.
