“Fantastic choice!”

We had an excellent two night stay. The accommodation has everything you could possibly need, including swim suits, dry robe and sliders to get to the river Onsen. Very well located to dig your own foot Onsen to soak your feet or very close to the public onsen. The food was absolutely excellent, breakfast dinner and the bento boxes. The staff were lovely too. The bathroom is aging (as is very clearly stated) but is super clean, there are only two showers but this never caused a problem. I’d definitely stay again. Also the beds were the comfiest of our whole trip.

The host, that was so friendly... The bath in the river hot spring was also amazing. The food was delicious and the room very big for Japan standards, with views to the river.

Right near the public river onsen and the bus stop. Incredible staff - answered all our questions about forward travel the next morning. Had everything organised. You get offered whichever time you’d like to have breakfast based on when you need to leave. AMAZING - perfect for us doing the Kumano Kodo trail

“Lovely and greatful to stay here”

The location and environment are both wonderful and very comfortable. the staff very kind and nice, and provide amazing food for guests.

Landlord Mr. Yuri was very friendly, he giving us detailed information on nearby attractions and hiking routes. The dinner he prepared was delicious. Most heartwarming was the poncho he provided, it was very convenient to wear when going to the outdoor hot spring. We definitely will stay at his inn again when we visit Wakayama next time.

Popping down to the river after dinner for an onsen in the dark was amazing. We also very much enjoyed the food and our genial host's sitar playing.

“Best minshuku with onsen”

The best location to base ourselves and explore the surrounding areas. We loved being able to use the river bed onsens which was surreal. The bus stop to Kii-Katsuura was just outside the minshuku and it was just as easy to head to Yunomine Onsen town with a bus also, from the opposite side of the road. The dinner was exceptional and so was the breakfast and lunch bento boxes which we asked for to take on our bus trip. Overall, it was the best stay so far on our Kumano Kodo Nakahechi trek.

Nice and friendly, we could use swim suits and towels and slippers for river onsen, delicious dinner and breakfast.

Very welcoming and kind owner. Breakfast, lunch bento and dinner were all excellent. Location right next to the river onsen; they provided yukata and outdoor sandals. Wish I had booked 2 nights instead of 1 as there would have been a lot to do in the surroundig areas.

Really hospitable host. Food was exceptional. Location beside the river with hot springs was incredible.

There are too many positive things to mention about this place. A beautiful location in front of a river where you can build your own natural onsen. This experience will be hard to bit. A delicious dinner, breakfast and bento lunch. Very kind staff who was always very helpful. Thank you very much. I will recommend this place to anyone who is planning to be around the Kumano Kodo.
