“Jungle Dream”

Trip of a lifetime, organisation was second to none in terms of pick up, drop off and excursions. Genuinely one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. Such an abundance of wildlife, including Tapir, capybara, Burrowing owl, various monkeys, tree boa, caiman, nighttime creepy crawlies and the show stoppers macaws. Be patient, this is not an African safari, the wildlife here can be elusive, but super rewarding once discovered. The hotel is deep within the Amazon, the bedrooms, food, friendlyness of staff and the hotel are just incredible. Be prepared to embrace the rainforest (bugs and bats) and don't expect top end luxury. (You've missed the point if your booking for 5* comfort). Our guide Juan, he was amazing, he absolutely made the trip. We pushed him to see as much as possible and he accommodated to our high expectations and energy levels. Thank you!

A unique and fabulous immersive experience of the rainforest. Erick our guide was excellent and enabled us to see the wildlife which we would have had no chance of even noticing without him. He made every whiter to pack in a range of enjoyable and fascinating activities.

Fantastic lodge and research station deep in the reserve and the Amazon forest far from all visible signs of humanity, dense rainforest teeming with birds, animals, insects - it balances the discomfort of the steamy forest heat and biting insects perfectly with a little luxury when you are not out on excursions in the jungle - exactly what one would want from an Amazon experience.

Fantastic location to experience the Amazonian forest in a safe environment. Let’s be clear: keeping such a hotel working in a national park demands lots of logistics (they’re not even allowed to do laundry on site , everything linen and food is transported on boats and then by hand!). Their team works like crazy to keep this experience great and they can be proud. Of course it’s not a traditional 5* and the insect experience could be rough to some but you can’t imagine anything better in such a remote location. Truly a memorable experience, knowledgeable and welcoming guides. This is one trip we’ll always remember.

Special shout out to Louis, the bartender, for his unique cocktails and tips on travel in Peru. Wifi is good in the main areas as well, so you are connected.

The location is great - you're in the reserve and surrounded by wildlife. The trails by the hotel and the set up for the tours is very good - the guides are knowledgeable and are excellent at spotting.

The total package is a wonderful experience. From the long-boat journey to the field excursions, all well run. The accommodation is superb when you consider where it is in a jungle setting. A quality experience. The staff are superb and the facilities well maintained in a very hot, wet and humid setting. Its the little things like gum boots and well placed umbrellas that make for a well thoughtout experience. Then you add on the wildlife which is everywhere!!

It was by far one of the best Trips we ever made. The whole experience , the staff and the biologists did a great Job to give the best experience someone could get. We will surely come Back. Best regards Thomas Nitzschke

This place is a little piece of heaven, it’s really remote and the boat ride to get to it is awesome. the team running the place are fab and our guide, Erick, was so good. best guide we’ve ever had. definitely recommend this place and make sure you get one of the suites

“Best for wildlife in Tambopata”

Our guide, Johan, was amazing and he did everything to show us the beauty of Tambopata. We saw plenty of wildlife, you won't be disappointed if you decide to go here. But do not take the rare animals for granted. In terms of facilities, the lodge's common areas are great, including the bar and the hammock area. Food was great as well, with plenty of vegetarian, fresh options. Our room was tiny and less comfortable than in Refugio Amazonas. But again, come for the wildlife and the beauty of the Amazonas, not for the room.
