The staff were exceptional. Justin, at reception, was very informative and helpful. All the staff were great and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The pool was fabulous, 3m deep! Unheard of. Be aware that the restuarant and the pool area are used for functions during the evening. The shows and nightclub event (once a week) can be loud. We used earplugs and it was fine.

I had a thoroughly wonderful stay at this hotel! The whole team was incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and at home straight away. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and offered a great selection for a perfect start to the day. The relaxed atmosphere was particularly lovely – you can really switch off and unwind here. The pool deck also offers a stunning view, which makes your stay even more special. Another great bonus is that you can borrow a surfboard free of charge. I would come back any time and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone!

“Old school hotel, faded grandeur.”

Very easy to access the town from hotel. Staff very friendly. Breakfast very nice and plentiful. Lots of secure parking. Beautiful view from terrace.

The worst experience ever. Music untill midnight. Impossible to sleep. The same food every day. Difficult access to parking space.

Maravida Hotel is the former Best Western, but it has little in common with the typical standardized buildings of the brand. The concept is quite different: the rooms are bright, colorful, and airy, with a fresh atmosphere that feels more like a beach villa than a conventional hotel. The pool is the social hub of the hotel, bringing together the restaurant and bar and creating a lively, relaxed vibe. As an added benefit, the hotel provides beach towels and surfboards for guests — only the surfboards are a bit worn, but they are still available for use. The location is undoubtedly the highlight. The beach is literally across the street, in one of the best areas of Tamarindo to enjoy the day, with beginner-friendly surf, beach bars, and facilities for renting chairs and umbrellas. The hotel is located at the end of the Tamarindo beach, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Another very positive aspect is the service. All staff members are friendly, helpful, and genuinely willing to assist, provide information, and make every effort to meet guests’ needs.

The pool and new lounge chairs are very nice. The upstairs lounge is lovely as well. We love Eric, the surfing instructor. My hubby met him a few years ago and had a lesson. He is awesome!!! The girls at the bar and Buffett are so sweet! Very caring and attentive.

The room we were upgraded to was very comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic!

We got a room with a view of the ocean, it was really cool. Room was clean and modern. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day but we liked it. Pool was huge and deep, kids enjoyed it.

“Dilapidated Motel, not boutique resort”

Would be zero stars if not for the charming and hardy staff at breakfast and diligent cleaning team. It’s a really good location and nothing a bulldozer wouldn’t fix! Those are the only good things I have to say.

Loved my stay!! Bed.was divine. Breakfast was giant and left me stuffed. Beach was across the street. Would stay again!!

We spent a wonderful week at Best Western in Costa Rica with friends. The ocean-view pool was amazing, and the breakfast was always tasty. The staff were super friendly — a special thanks to Itzel, who was always smiling and happy to help! The beach is very close, and we learned to surf there. We could even borrow surfboards from the hotel for free, which was a big plus. We also enjoyed a fun pool party over the weekend. For the price, this hotel is a great deal. We were very satisfied and highly recommend it!

Car parking was good and location was good. Walking distance into Tamarindo. The room we were moved to (eventually) was clean and bed was comfy. It was bigger than originally booked.

They provide you with shampoo and shower gel. It is relatively close to the centre and they have a large parking. The breakfast is a buffet with a big variety of fruits, ham, cheese, rice and beans.
