Great place, hosts have thought of everything, the outside seating area is a great place for meals and for relaxing. Hosts are very friendly, approachable and accommodating. The host Dilshan can help with tours, taxi, recommendations. The home made food was delicious. There was nothing we didn’t like about our stay here. Great location, very close to a beautiful beach where we watched turtles in the waves. Close to bars along the beach. Dilshan can also prepare cocktails and drinks as well as the delicious food he and his wife prepared. We were very well looked after and would not hesitate to return and recommend to others.

Disappointing and uprofessionel experience: The most serious issue was that the host attempted to charge significantly more than the confirmed Booking.com price by applying an inflated exchange rate. This was not a simple misunderstanding. I had to question the amount and discuss it multiple times before he eventually adjusted the price. Even then, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation. Being asked to pay moed reservation price upon arrival is unacceptable. Additionally, the WiFi did not work at all during my stay — it connected to the router but there was no internet access. The area was noisy late into the evening, and the dog on the property barked excessively, which made it difficult to rest. Overall, this was by far the worst stay of my three weeks in Sri Lanka.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Rising Sun. From the moment we arrived, Dilshan was an incredible host—so kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. We truly felt at home here. One of the highlights was the beautiful garden. It’s like a little tropical paradise where you can relax and watch the local wildlife; we saw squirrels, monkeys, and many colorful birds right from our doorstep! The breakfast was also delicious and the perfect way to start our days. Plus, Dilshan was kind enough to let us do some laundry, which was incredibly helpful for our travels. If you are looking for a peaceful, friendly, and authentic place in Unawatuna, don’t hesitate to book here. We can't wait to come back!

“Exceptional Hospitality, Fantastic Location, and the Best Breakfast!”

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this villa. The room was spacious, very clean, and had all the necessary amenities including locked cabinets for valuables and a powerful and quiet air conditioner. There was a mosquito nets for a bed but we haven't even used it cause the room was completely free of mosquitoes The bathroom was great with consistently good water pressure and temperature. The host provided us with extra beach towels, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and even after-bite cream. The breakfasts were simply the best food we had during our entire stay in Sri Lanka! The menu alternated daily between delicious European options and authentic, diverse local dishes. As a special treat, the host even prepared a fantastic traditional dinner for us on New Year's Eve. The location is great. Right across the road, there's a tasty and affordable restaurant, and two grocery stores are just a short walk away. The ocean is only a 5-minute walk! The nearby beach is clean, peaceful, and was never crowded during our visits. For extra convenience, the host arranged a scooter rental for us at a very good rate. It was so easy to have it right there, without the hassle of going far to pick it up and return it. Higly reccomend!

A lovely little homestay with beautifully designed rooms that blend seamlessly with nature and the surroundings. A comfortable bed and a nice, spacious bathroom. The owner does everything he can to make guests feel welcome and comfortable—and he succeeds brilliantly!! We loved every second of our stay and will definitely be back! “A lovely villa for 2-4 people in a quiet location with a great host”

Four of us arrived and booked both rooms in the villa for almost a week. The owner greeted us, prepared a delicious breakfast, answered all our questions, helped us find a driver, and was always available. The rooms themselves were clean and tidy, just like the photos, and had everything we needed. We also had a veranda, a sitting area, and a kitchen at our disposal. The villa is located in a quiet area, 5 minutes from the beach, and if needed, we can easily reach bustling Unawatuna or Galle. We were very pleased with everything and highly recommend this place!

Villa Sun Rising was a lovely place to stay! The host was super kind and made us feel welcome right from the start. The room was comfortable and cozy. We had a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast included, which was amazing, and the dinner we tried was also incredibly tasty—especially for such a small price and he even made us a vegetarion option. Everything about our stay was relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

The host is great . He is there to help and assist in any way he can . He made me some great healthy breakfasts during my stay there and advised me on places to eat nearby . He was very kind . There is a washing machine on site which I didn't use but is handy to know .

Had a lovely time! The hosts are super nice and accommodating. You will feel super welcome. The rooms are great. At the entrance there's a barking dog, no worries (but still a bit scary).
