Really friendly staff and great, quiet location right next to the park entrance, which is a huge advantage as we didn't have to pay park fees on days when we didn't go on a safari. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. The staff also organized private safaris for us, and we had an amazing driver who spotted all kinds of animals. We would definitely visit again!

The camp itself was beautiful, especially during the evenings — the atmosphere at night was truly special. During the daytime, however, it felt a little bit claustrophobic at times. We first sat on the terrace and later moved to the main lobby looking for a slightly more open and spacious feeling. The staff taking care of our tent was extraordinary, and our waiter was excellent as well — very attentive and warm. Some of the other staff members, however, felt a bit too relaxed at times compared to the level of service we expected.

Literally everything was perfect! Dennis is truly one of the best guides — knowledgeable, professional, and so passionate about what he does. He made the entire experience unforgettable. Sandra was also incredibly helpful before I even arrived, sharing thoughtful recommendations and making sure everything was seamless from the start. This was my first solo safari as a solo female traveller, and it felt safe, empowering, and absolutely exceptional. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would love to visit again — and I definitely will!

“Green jem just next to Masai Mara”

The team was exceptional and took great care of every detail, from food over to activities and looking after the rooms, we felt very well cared for. The camp is located just next to Talek gate and is very green and lush. Everything is beautifully designed. We also booked the Safari, Masai village visit and transfers through the camp and were thoroughly happy with all experiences. We deeply miss the team and hope to be back soon!

We had a wonderful time at the camp. The tents are very clean and nicely furnished, and the beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathroom is a little too dark. The staff are very friendly and take good care of you if you're feeling unwell. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. We felt very comfortable here. Sometimes it can be a little noisy due to the proximity to the village. You just have to be aware of that. On the other hand, you can be at the gate in 3 minutes. The game drives with Dennis were unbeatable and highly recommended.

We stayed for four nights and had an absolutely amazing experience. The lodge is perfectly located right at the gate of the national park, the rooms are luxurious, spotless, and the entire property is beautiful and very well maintained. The food was exceptional, true fine dining at a very high level. The chef even prepared special gluten-free and vegetarian meals for us, which we truly appreciated. The staff was outstanding: our ranger Dominik was fantastic on the game drives. A very special thank you to Sandra and Joseph, the owners – Joseph even helped us personally when we had a car breakdown, which went far beyond expectations. Daniel was an excellent and very attentive waiter, and Gilbert is a top manager on site who ensures everything runs perfectly. We are travelers from Germany and were truly impressed. An unforgettable safari experience – highly recommended!

“Great stay overall”

Overall, the experience here was really great, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Food: This was always well thought out and tasty, you can also recommend your favourite items and the chef will accommodate. The breakfasts were my favourite! Rooms: These were really nice however a few notes, during the day all the outer walls of the tent were pulled up, and so you won't have room privacy. They are only pulled back down after sunset. And you will have bugs in the room - this is normal and you wont really be able to stop this. Safari: These are amazing, I did find that my guide tried much harder the first safari and less on the second, but overall they were great and I loved them. Note that when you don't do the safari, the camp is very quiet and empty, and it can feel slightly awkward. Staff: The staff are overall very attentive and polite, however I think because I was a solo female traveller, the interactions were sometimes slightly awkward, with one of the staff telling me I should have brought my husband instead of coming alone - I just laughed this off. My room staff was amazing, cleaning the room thoroughly and bringing me a hot water bottle in the nights was a really nice touch.

Everything about the property! Celebrated my birthday in masai Mara ,Olkinyei staff made so many arrangements (a masai dance and cake cutting surprise) the new rooms are pure luxury! The warmth , personalised attention of the staff to cater each tent! From food to the location being 5mins away from the main Talek gate was perfect! special mention for hospitality to Sandra, Joseph who are the owners and Joseph I totally recommend as a guide for safaris he made we saw the Big 4 our 1st day itself!!! Benson who was the manager and each and every staff member were beyond welcoming and helpful!!! 11 out of 10!!

Our stay at Olkinyei Mara was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was warm and genuine, making us feel right at home in the heart of the wild. The game drives were the absolute highlight of our trip, thanks to our incredible guide, Boiya. His deep knowledge of the ecosystem and his expert tracking skills were mind-blowing; he ensured every outing was a unique adventure. The dining experience was equally impressive. The food was 5-star quality, but I have to give a special mention to the desserts—they were creative, decadent, and the perfect way to end every day. Our server, Sebastian, was a true star. He anticipated our every need with a smile and made every meal feel like a special occasion. If you’re looking for a perfect blend of luxury, adventure, and heart, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

The service was the best I have ever experienced with Dalmas who catered for our meals. I will forever remember Dalmas. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was the best.

“Very comfortable, we extended our stay by a day because we liked it so much!”

The property seems new, tented accomodations are well designed and built. The premium tents were beautifully appointed. Are even better than the pictures. Beds were super comfortable. The staff was really polite and courteous and eager to help. Food options though limited and as per a set menu, were delicious, presented and served by the jolly Joshua. The property set in a lush jungle is clean and very well maintained, feels safe and peaceful. Abundance of birdsong and small wildlife visible in the mornings and evenings within the premises.

The place is what is in the pictures. We stayed in a Luxury King Room for 3 nights. I will focus more on the people as these are not in the pictures. Sandra - definitely the best coordinator I have ever dealt with. On the outset of the planning, she already laid out almost everything that is needed, from detailed costing of activities, timings and possible customization of game drives, to the transparency of the payments. It was a pleasure to plan the trip with her. Francis - our transfer from Nairobi and vice versa. Definitely ask Sandra for this guy for the transfer. You will be surprised at what he can offer on a transfer that's supposedly just plain and simple. Gilbert, Daniel, Joshua - the reception and the servers in the restaurant. Very hardworking people. They are there in both early dinners and quick coffee very early the next day. Very detailed in explaining the inclusions in the room and in the menu. They are also fun to speak with. Checking with you how the daily safaris went. Special mention to Joshua who was very funny. Duncan - a very polite guy helping us with anything in the room. From cleaning the room to putting up and down the zipped curtains outside the tent. Julias - the camp's very own chef. I have zero complaints to the taste and quality of the food. The soups were particularly amazing. Being lactose intolerant, the least I need is an upset stomach on a full day game drive and the team literally made the food dairy free. This is the service I can only expect in an ultra luxury 5-star hotel. Joseph - last but definitely not the least. Probably one of the best game drivers Maasai Mara has to offer. He is very skilled in tracking predator animals. There are times when we came late to the sightings, but once we were there, he was definitely the first one to drive towards the next stop where the big cats would pass through. We had moments where the lions rest in the shadow of our jeep and the leopards pass through us.
