Our stay at Mara Intrepids was nothing short of exceptional. The warmth and hospitality of the entire team truly made this experience unforgettable. A special mention to Lawrence, George, and Sylvester from the food team — they went above and beyond to make every meal special. George, in particular, was outstanding. He effortlessly catered to all our requests, preparing a wide variety of cuisines including Indian, Chinese, and even Mexican — each dish absolutely delicious and made with care. One of the highlights was the beautiful barbecue they organized by the poolside — a perfectly curated evening with great food and a lovely ambience that we will always remember. They also made our son’s birthday incredibly special with a complimentary cake and a heartwarming celebration, complete with a wonderful song by the entire team. It was such a thoughtful gesture and meant a lot to us. Our guide, Samson, deserves equal praise for delivering a brilliant 4-day safari experience. His knowledge, patience, and keen eye ensured we had incredible sightings and truly immersive game drives. Mara Intrepids is not just about the stunning location — it’s the people who make it extraordinary. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and personalized safari experience.

The safari guide was excellent and the staff welcomed us in a beautiful way

Mara Intrepids is the perfect place to stay while visiting Maasai Mara. It has an excellent location - 3 minutes drive from the Olkiombo airstrip, and right on the banks of the Talek river, with views of the resident hippos. The tents are very comfortable and the staff is extremely helpful and hospitable. The food is superb too, practically Michelin star level. Definitely want to visit again.

We had an amazing stay at Mara Intrepids, it exceeded all our expectations. We flew in from Nairobi with Safarilink, and the flight took about 45 minutes. Upon landing, a member of the camp staff was already there to pick us up, and the camp was only a 2-minute drive from Olkiombo Airstrip. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome immediately helped us switch off from the noise and pace of city life. The environment was peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained, and the facilities were excellent throughout our stay. Our tent felt far more luxurious and comfortable than we expected. It was cozy, spacious, and equipped with a private toilet and bathroom, along with very comfortable beds. The staff were incredibly attentive, while we were out on game drives, they would clean the tent and prepare hot water bottles for the cold nights, which was such a thoughtful touch. This was our first experience in the Mara, and by the end of our 3 days and 2 nights, it genuinely felt like we had made friends there. Every member of staff was cheerful, welcoming, and always willing to help. The food was fantastic throughout our stay. Special thanks to Chef Tom, Geoffrey, Lawrence, Obasanjo, and the entire kitchen team for taking such great care of us. They catered to all our needs, and there were always delicious desserts waiting for us after meals. Our game drives into the reserve were another highlight of the trip. Our guides/drivers, Ezekiel and Rafael, were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the Mara and its wildlife. They respected the reserve deeply and made every drive enjoyable and memorable, helping us spot a wide variety of animals while maintaining a great balance with timing and pacing.

“Magical”

It was really exceptional. My husband, my son (5 years old) and myself had an absolute wonderful time. Our guide was Simon and he was really good. We had also Tabitha with us who turned out to be a really great spotter too. They were both great. The lady in the kids club (Natalie I think) was super nice too. My husband really enjoyed that the restaurant staff asked multiple times if he wanted to eat a bit more (they were not short with the food which made him happy) and also the food was superb. I was not expecting this in the middle of the savanna. Hippos (with babies!!) in the river right in front of our tent.

“Simply the best camp in Massai Mara”

Locations is spot on. Just 5 minutes drive from the strip airport. The tent was very spacious and with all the comforts. Our tent was facing the Massai river and the view was amazing. Food, staff, drive games were all exceptional - I definitely recommend coming here for your first safari in Massai Mara

It has a very good location. The tents are quite large, very clean, and well equipped. They are located by the river, so in the evening you can hear various sounds made by hippos. Safari is already included in the price. The food could be better. Wi-Fi does not work in the tent. The safari was perfect. Our jeep driver was amazing. We saw everything we wanted to see.

“Clear Inclusions, Excellent Guiding, and a Great Location – Our 5 Nights at Mara Intrepids”

We stayed at Mara Intrepids Camp for five nights in January and had a great experience. When researching the Masai Mara, we found it hard to get clear information on what’s included (game drives, park fees, etc.), so hopefully this helps. Getting there: The camp is right next to Mara–Olkiombo Airstrip (a two-minute jeep transfer). We flew Air Kenya from Nairobi Wilson and would definitely recommend flying rather than driving — it’s much quicker. We arrived before breakfast and were immediately looked after, and within minutes were watching hippos in the river by reception. The camp can also help arrange flights. Game drives: We had three shared drives per day included in our rate (booked direct and price matched to Booking.com). You can combine the morning drives into one longer drive with breakfast in the bush. Park fees were $100 per person per 24 hours (Jan–June; $200 July–Dec) and arranged through the hotel before our first drive. The camp’s central location means less driving and more wildlife time. For 3.5 days we had the jeep to ourselves. Our guide, Ezekiel, was excellent and very experienced. We saw a wide range of wildlife including lions, a cheetah and baby elephants. At camp: Warm, attentive hospitality (thank you Dinah, Joshua, Missala, Loisana and Sylvester). The river setting is beautiful and very well maintained. The official photos don’t really do it justice!!

“Excellent experience, and would come back”

This is the 2nd time we visited Masai Mara, compared with the previous experience, I would highly recommend Mara Intrepids to everyone who plan to visit Masai Mara and expect a one-stop service including airstrip transportation, professional safari and hospitality from room and restaurant service! 1. The location is perfect, inside the park, next to Talek river, nearby lots of animals you can closely see. 2. The room facility is all good and equips with all you need, even the anti-mosquito lotion. 3. They have the wake-up service every morning if you plan to do early safari (offering you coffee/tea with cookies) 4. Most of the time, you don't need to eat buffet, they offers set menu with various options, and all the restaurant service team is excellent! 5. The most important, safari drivers are the best in masai mara comparing with the aegncy's. They well-know all the wildlife in Masai Mara and would like to share with you their stories, e.g. each lion pride name/what happened to them etc.

“5-Star Perfection – We Truly Couldn’t Fault a Thing”

We have just come back from the most amazing honeymoon at Mara Intrepids, and I honestly don’t know where to begin. Every single member of staff was exceptional from start to finish. On arrival, we were welcomed with a traditional song and a refreshing fruit juice – such a special and memorable start to our stay. We stayed in Tent 26, which had a beautiful view over the river. At night, we could hear hippos playing just outside our tent, which was absolutely incredible and something we will never forget. Reuben, our room attendant, did a fabulous job throughout our stay. He brought us tea and biscuits every morning and provided a wonderful turndown service each evening. Considering where we were, we were amazed that we never saw a single mosquito in our tent and didn’t get one bite during our entire stay. The restaurant team were fantastic. Louisiana and Joseph were wonderful, and Dinah always made a point of asking what we had seen on our game drives and showed genuine interest. The food was outstanding – they truly have exceptional chefs. On two mornings we took the breakfast boxes for our game drives, which were free and beautifully done. Sitting in the middle of the Maasai Mara enjoying breakfast was unforgettable. On our final night, we were surprised with a private Kenyan BBQ by the river – just three tables, a fire and chefs cooking over the grill. It was a thank you for staying four nights and was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. We honestly couldn’t fault Mara Intrepids. If we could have tipped every single member of staff, we would have. We will definitely be back.

What an amazing place. The staff were amazing throughout & the food was exceptional. Paul our ranger was just amazing & with his 15 years experience he knew exactly where to drive to for the animals. The whole thing was the best experience ever.

The location was great!! Our tent was facing Talek river. We saw hyena, hippos water bucks & some little crocs at the river. All the staff were nice, friendly, helpful & accomodating. The food was great too. Simon, our guide & driver was knowledgable. He knew where & when to find animals. An expert driver as well. Our game drives were amazing. We really really love it!! The camp itself is just minutes away frm Olkiombo airstrip. So we dont hv to travel far to reach the camp. It really helps during checkout time cos we dont hv to rush.

“Amazing, made our stay”

The people were amazing, they were so personable and every staff remember was lovely. Sakut did our game drives and was so knowledgeable and adapted it to our preferences. Masila in the restaurant was lovely and always remembered how we liked things (he even lent us his flask when we wanted hot chocolate in the room). Agnus and Duncan on reception were so kind. Nixon does the 7pm talks and John who looked after our room. The hotel is right by the airstrip but you don’t hear loads of planes. Facilities were great and it felt so personable. Would 100% go back. Food was also really nice

Close to the airport an central for game drive and fenced property and safe for everyone inside. Friendly staff and well trained. Game drive is amazing 3 times a day and very flexible to your schedule. Samson our game drive expert was amazing and we saw our big five as well. Additional activities like bush dinner and sun downer was amazing 🤩 amazing food modern and kitchen staff are amazing and well trained.
