“A wonderful stay”

A wonderful hotel with a very charming owner. The breakfast was incredibly delicious and plentiful. A huge plate of wonderfully tasty fruit, fresh juice, coffee, tea, eggs cooked to your liking, and bread. The bread was so delicious that I couldn’t resist, even though I don’t usually eat it. The hotel owner sometimes prepares dinner. We ate his grilled tuna steak. The best I’ve ever had. It’s a shame he doesn’t cook dinner every night, because we definitely wouldn’t have gone out or looked for a place to eat. A beach of stunning beauty and absolutely amazing ocean waves. They were big but not dangerous at all, so we had a lot of fun swimming. We’d come back here every year if only the flight weren’t so long.

Great location. Very quiet - it was like having our own private beach

Absolute prime location. You fall asleep to the sound of the waves and wake up overlooking the sea. Thomas the owner is very kind and was always super helpfull. Also he is an exzellent cook. So make sure to try also the dinner at the hotel. Thanks so much. We had a fantastic stay.

“Relaxing stayat hotel in a beautiful setting directly on the beach”

This family-run hotel has an amazing setting, right on a very quiet beach. Meaning you are able to walk from the restaurant straight on to the beach. There also plenty of sun longers that you can use for free on the beach. The breakfast was excellent, with an abundance of fresh fruit provided. The dinner options were also delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a more relaxing and quieter vibe than Mirissa.

“A gem on Talalla Beach”

First of all you can’t help but be blown away by the beautiful view of Talalla Beach. The location directly on the beach is stunning. The property has a lovely ambiance. The room was very clean & comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent. There are a couple of restaurants on the beach but the food served at the hotel was some of the best we’ve had so far so would highly recommended eating in. Mr Thomas and his staff were friendly and welcoming making it pleasurable place to stay. Thoroughly recommend

“So good we came here twice!”

Great location, beautiful quiet beach Spacious room with balcony overlooking the ocean the sound of the waves crashing was lovel and turtles came onto the beach at night to lay eggs.There is a hatchery at the endvof the beach and they regularly release the hatching to the sea. Thomas the owner was really helpful and arranged a morning trip for us to swim with the turtles at a nearby beach. There were snorkel and boogie boards for guests to use free of charge. Nice size pool to cool down in. Food was excellent, the fish in particular was outstanding, we tried other restaurants but Thomas's food was easily the best we had. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Bus stand and tuk tuk outside the front of the hotel if want to go further afield. Free tea, coffee and water all day.

“A room with a view”

Thomas and his team were excellent hosts. Breakfast was great. The view is excellent.

Talalla Beach Bay was a scenic stay. You’re right in front of the ocean, with your own private swimming pool and direct access to the beach — you can literally walk from the hotel straight onto beautiful Talalla Beach. There are great food options nearby, including a cozy dog coffee place right next to the hotel that even has Starlink internet, which was perfect for working. The owner is incredibly kind, and the staff genuinely make you feel welcome and cared for. The rooms are simple and you can hear the ocean clearly at night — so either bring earplugs or embrace the sound of the waves. Our first night’s sleep wasn’t the best because of that. It’s a three-star hotel, and you can see that, but they put so much love and effort into everything that it truly made the stay special.

“What a gem - would definitely stay again”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thomas’s place. It was clean and relaxed. You could go straight onto the beach from the hotel and there were plenty of sunbeds. The pool was nice and clean. The beach was beautiful and quiet - what a gem. The breakfasts and dinners made by Thomas were delicious and copious. Everything was fresh and really nicely cooked. From large platters of fruit in the morning with eggs any way you wanted them done to delicious fresh tuna and lovely curries in the evening - this was by far the best food we had in our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. A nice touch was the free water, tea and coffee we could help ourselves to all day. We really enjoyed our stay

“Beachfront bliss with exceptional hospitality”

A lovely beachfront hotel with incredible ocean views from the balconies. Sun lounges are right out front, plus there’s a pool if you feel like mixing it up. It’s an easy walk to local restaurants, though you may not want to leave as the owner is an incredible chef with years of hospitality experience in Australia, and the included breakfasts are abundant and delicious. There’s also a good café next door, and Talalla Retreat just up the beach for yoga drop-ins and day spa treatments. A wonderful base with everything you need close by, an including a nearby café supporting street dog healthcare. Make sure you check out the fishermen bringing in their catch just after dawn.

Staff were unbelievably accommodating. Food was tremendous and the view from the room was stunning. We eat in the hotel both nights. The tuna was amazing. We loved listening to the waves breaking every night whilst laying in bed

Unbelievable location. Local swimming with turtles and free use of body boards.. Absolutely delicious breakfast. Freely available coffee and water. Very helpful hotel staff and amazing evening meals-especially the catch of the day cooked by the very talented Thomas.
