The property is beautifully maintained with a lovely colonial feel to it. Beautiful gardens with hammock and comfy chairs Nothing too much trouble for this lady.

“Back in January”
The fantastic Madame Mani is the owner and manager of Gurugedare Heritage. She welcomes all guests with open arms and you feel welcome and home immediately. International or domestic breakfast is offered. Lunch and dinner are Sri Lankan dishes with local ingredients. In the vicinity there is Tallalla Beach approx. 1km. 7km away there is the fantastic Hiriketiya Beach a paradise for surfers. (15min by tuk-tuk) Thank you Madame Mani for a fantastic stay. We’ve loved our stay here. Mani is a wonderful host and we feel very much at home, she’s been so generous with her suggestions and catering to my dietary needs (vegetarian). The food is brilliant and wholesome. We’ve been able to relax and work from the porch and the living room, and take the short walk to Talalla beach for a perfect swim. This is a heritage property and it has been in the family for a long time, you get the feeling of living among local history - which I prefer more than a newly sprung up hotel. And you can spot plenty of colourful birds in the peaceful garden. Easy access to mini marts, fruit vendors, sunset viewpoints, and a short ride to the busier beaches of Dikwella and Hiriketiya.

“A traditional heritage home from home”
Gurugedara is a historically significant house that feels like staying in a family home, because that's exactly what it is! I received a wonderful welcome from the house staff who couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable. Home cooked traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts, coconut roti, string hoppers, milk rice, fresh fruit, varied each day. My host also offers evening meals, laundry service, Ayurvedic massage, tea and coffee. I loved staying here for the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood, it really felt like a retreat. I swam at the near smaller beaches, but beautiful Talalla beach is only 15 minutes walk away.

EXCELLENT FOOD and the friendly staff i felt like staying at my own home. surrounding is very peaceful. location is surrounded by a village . beach is only 1km away of a walk
