“Excellent staff and location”

The staff were amazing, special thanks to Sara who went over and beyond. The accommodation was traditional Japanese and super homely. Thank you, you made our stay in Takayama memorable.

“A calm and comfortable place to stay”

This is a well-run and a very agreeable hotel. Within easy walking distance of the historic part of Takayama it is also a calm place to be. Good breakfasts, nice sized rooms and very friendly and helpful staff.

Great hotel. Staff were really helpful especially Yuka who helped us sort out restaurant bookings.

In a stylish wooden hotel, Very nice and comfortable quadruple rooms with upper beds for our 2 kids. I spent my best night in Japan :-) on top the room offers a dedicated separate living room. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Nice complimentary teas with a lot of flavors to try. 5 min walk from the city center and 10 min from train station.

Staff were great, lovely little hotel for a night or two. Good location etc.

“Very nice stay in a Authentic Machiya”

It was a wonderful stay; the fact that it's a machiya added a very authentic touch to our trip. Furthermore, its location is quite convenient, allowing easy walking distance from the station and then exploring the historic center. I would definitely stay there again!

Just perfect. Near to the station of train and bus. Premium facilities, clean, comfortable, relaxing, very kind staff. I just regretted that I stayed only one night in this beautiful hotel.

We loved everything about this stay: the house, the location, the facilities, the cleanliness, the bath, the amenities. My kids loved staying in their own room upstairs. The balcony / terrace was perfect for a morning coffee while listening to the river flow by. The house was extremely clean and extremely spacious. Great with free laundry and a drying rack. Appreciate the coffee, tea, laundry detergent, etc.) Parking is possible & payable for a very reasonable fee closeby (I think 1000 yen / day).

Incredibly helpful staff

The privateness of the villa in the heart of the beautiful old town. The stunning bath, airy kitchen area and view of the river. The staff were very friendly.

Loved everything about this villa! The staff and service were excellent. The location and view was perfect. The space, privacy and facilities on offer in the villa was exactly what we were looking for and it didn't disappoint in any way. Would stay here again!

The peaceful but friendly ambience. The magical breakfast both Japanese and Western style. The little extras - games, books, bowls of rice crackers or biscuits or fruit when you were having coffee or an evening drink.

Facilities and staff were great. Our room was very spacious.

Cute, typical, quaint, nice hot tub and common area. Large rooms and very friendly staff. Great location.
